A two tier rationale has been used (where required) to identify the Te Kāuru hapū members in terms of their customary connections with regards to their locality, occupation and connection with the Manawatū River and its tributaries: 1. Coromandel-Colville Reserves: Management Plan September 2018 Purpose of this plan The Reserves Act 1977 requires that Thames-Coromandel District Council (the Council), as an administering body, prepare this management plan (Section 41). Reserves Act management plans are an important reserve management tool. These management plans are developed in consultation with reserve users, community and key stakeholder groups, with consideration to current management of a reserve. A management plan will provide for continuity between legislative requirements, council plans and policies, and the day-to-day operation of a reserve. This draft Coromandel Colville Reserves Management Plan applies to all reserves in the Coromandel Colville area administered by Thames-Coromandel District Council that are covered by the Reserves Act 1977. A management plan for the Coromandel Colville reserves was first prepared in 2005. This is the first review of the original plan. NGĀTI HEI and THE CROWN AGREEMENT IN PRINCIPLE EQUIVALENT July 2011 INTRODUCTION - SETTLEMENT STRUCTURE 1. The Iwi of Hauraki1 entered into a Framework Agreement between the Hauraki Collective and the Crown dated 1 October 2010. 2. The Framework Agreement and Agreement in Principle Equivalents represent incremental steps towards a comprehensive Deed of Settlement between the Crown and the Iwi of Hauraki. 3. The Deed of Settlement will settle all Historical Claims2 under the Te Tiriti o Waitangi / the Treaty of Waitangi3 in the Hauraki region which arise from the whakapapa of each of the Iwi of Hauraki. 4. As a consequence of the Deed of Settlement, each of the Iwi of Hauraki will be entitled to a range of Treaty settlement redress. 5. The Crown and the Iwi of Hauraki acknowledge that the ultimate structure of a settlement with the Iwi of Hauraki is yet to be agreed, and will be developed in the course of negotiations. Thus, for example, it is not yet agreed whether there will be multiple deeds of settlement or a single deed of settlement with iwi specific redress.4 6. This Agreement in Principle Equivalent comprises both collective and iwi specific chapters and includes: a. redress agreed to by the Crown; b. redress the Crown is willing to explore; and c. redress the Hauraki Collective and Ngāti Hei seek. 7. The Crown acknowledges that the Collective and Ngāti Hei has the right to seek redress, but notes that some of the redress iwi seek is outside current government policy. 8. Ngāti Hei is party to the Hauraki Collective Framework Agreement and is undertaking iwi specific negotiations in respect of its interests. -

Summary of Practice Professional Learning and Development Accreditation Personal Profile First name and Surname Rewa Paewai Your iwi Rangitāne o Tamaki nui a Rua; Te Arawa; Ngāti Kahungunu Personal statement Rewa is currently employed with Te Puna Wānanga, the Faculty of Education, University of Auckland both as a Project Director for te reo Māori PLD and as a facilitator delivering te reo Māori PLD to primary and secondary schools. Rewa has expertise in: planning and implementing quality te reo Māori programmes (Y1-13), second language acquisition, assessment, NCEA and culturally responsive pedagogy. In the time that Rewa has been involved in trM PLD, she has seen a favourable shift in attitude toward te reo Māori. This, therefore is an opportune time to explore the possibilities for developing te reo Māori pathways from primary to secondary, in order to better prepare students to succeed in te reo Māori NCEA. Rewa is available to deliver PLD in Auckland, Waikato and the Bay of Plenty. Professional Learning and Development Overview Rewa began her career as a teacher of te reo Māori and mathematics (Secondary). Rewa was seconded as a facilitator for: te reo Māori NCEA providing PLD to HoD Māori, assessment and programme planning/course writing; Te Kotahitanga, providing in-depth PLD to teachers about culturally responsive pedagogy for improving Māori learner achievement. In this role Rewa was trained in the effective teacher profile, in-class observations, providing feedback and feed forward, shadow coaching, co-construction hui and data collection; and, AtoL (Assessment to Learn). Rewa was then appointed as the National Coordinator for te reo Māori to: build the PLD capability of reo Māori facilitators to improve the teaching and learning of reo Māori students in Y7-8 English-medium settings; assist in writing Te Aho Arataki Marau mō te Ako i Te Reo Māori (the Curriculum Guidelines for Teaching Māori language, Years 1-13), and the development of te reo Māori teaching resources. -

M?ori Ministry, New Zealand JACOB (JAKE) ORMSBY Jacob (Jake) Ormsby, M.A. in Theology, MMin (Avondale College of Higher Education, Cooranbong, New South Wales, Australia). A New Zealander by birth Pastor Jake has served the church as a pastor, hospital and school chaplain, primary school principal, and teacher throughout Aotearoa/New Zealand. He has authored several magazine and journal articles. He is married to Evelyn with two adult children and three grandchildren. He enjoys outdoor recreation, music-especially his wife's piano playing, being a grandad, and travelling abroad. When the first Seventh-day Adventist missionaries arrived in Aotearoa, New Zealand, in 1885, the M?ori population of around 60,000 people was in decline due to the introduction of European diseases.1 The M?ori were already nominally Christianized due to the efforts of several notable early missionaries from other Christian denominations including Reverend Samuel Marsden on behalf of the Anglican Church Missionary Society (CMS) in 1814;2 Samuel Leigh on behalf of the Wesleyan (Methodist) and Henry Williams on behalf of the CMS both in 1823; and Roman Catholic Bishop Jean Baptiste Francois Pompallier in 1838 (although it has been suggested that there were M?ori Roman Catholics present before his arrival due to the influence of Catholic seamen, traders, and settlers).3 The Presbyterians arrived in 1848 as settlers, not missionaries, from Scotland, Ireland, and Australia along with Octavius Hadfield of the CMS.4 Mormons William Cooke and Thomas Holden, under the direction of mission president Augustus Farnham, followed in October 1854.
