MINING SERVICES PROFILE - 2012

ABOUT US:

Zaphire Mining Services is newly established department among Zaphire Technologies Group ZATECO to provide technical services related to the different mining activities in Sudan. Sudan is currently expanding its mining activities to make use of the versatile mineral resources present in the different parts of the country. ZATECO Mining Services Department is currently has clear scope and vision to be a leading Sudanese service company in the mining field.

Zaphire Mining Services firstly started by the mechanization of the conventional gold mining activities in the different parts of Sudan where artisanal miners and some small- scale companies recover gold from its ores by the use of mercury [amalgamation]. It is well-known that this process will put the labors to danger if proper safety precautions are not met (and this is the case in most of the operating goldfields).

Our first goal is to minimize mercury poisoning by limiting the contact with mercury during amalgamation, amalgam filtration and retorting (burning/roasting). ZATECO designed safer amalgamation drums of reasonably large capacities; amalgam filtration apparatus; and an efficient quick-fit retort.

ZATECO ultimate goal is to replace the current poor techniques for gold recovery by the safest physical recovery methods (gravitational and magnetic) in a small capacity suitable to fit the artisanal requirements at reasonably accepted prices.

OUR SERVICES:

1. 3D Depth Gold Detectors: Capable of detecting gold nuggets in depths more than 3.5 meters while giving information about the type of the metal detected and the average size of the target and the exact depth. Real demonstrations of detector capabilities and training on proper operation of the mentioned devices will be provided.

2. Gold Recovery and Ore Processing Equipment:  Dry and Wet gold concentrators of capacities ranging from 1 to 20 ton/hour.  Amalgamation drums 300 kg/hour.  Amalgam filters and quick-fit retorts.  Melting and Alloying Tools.  Note: Training on proper operation of the mentioned devices will be provided.

3. Gold Recovery and Refining Chemicals [Mercury, Inorganic acids, gold melting fluxes, gold and silver precipitating agents].

4. Material Sizing Equipment:  Stone crushers.  Stone Grinding Mills

5. Technical consultancy (& Supervision) in mining Operations:  Providing technical support to individuals and medium scale miners on how to increase productivity while conserving both health and environment.

 Concession Development Planning and Mine exploitation; selection of techniques and equipment for new mines or concessions based on the exploration and prospecting evaluation report.

6. Training, Research and Development [planning to upgrade small gold miners (individuals) and small and medium scale companies towards safer and increased gold mining by the use of proper equipment – arranging workshops and seminars].

7. For large producers, ZATECO can provide sound consultancy in the different mining phases [exploration, development, exploitation and rehabilitation]. This includes the different techniques for bulk materials handling.

COMPANY INNOVATIONS: 1. AMALGAMATION DRUM: It is a closed safe amalgamation mixer that separates the gold from the powdered hard rock ores. This equipment is designed for safe operation and increased gold recovery. Trials had demonstrated that the equipment can recover at least 85% of the free gold in the powdered ore. The operation time ranges from 30 to 45 min for a batch containing about 300 kg in a 50:50 mixture with water. The equipment can be designed for capacities between 50 to 300 kg with the options of electricity or fuel operation. The equipment is constructed from mild steel but small capacities can be constructed from fiberglass.

The equipment has the merits of safe and convenient operation the reduces the contact of humans with the mercury, at the same time allows treatment of large amounts of the ore in a small time with a higher recovery compared to the current poor manual techniques

2. AMALGAM BURNING UNIT (RETORT): This apparatus is designed to burn the so formed amalgam during the extraction step (amalgamation drum). The current open tools used to burn the amalgam are not safe to the operators and deteriorates the air and soil quality while losing the expensive mercury in the process.

OPERATIONAL DIAGRAM The designed retort is very easy to setup and use and will recover the mercury vapors as a condensate is a separate container. The retort is made of stainless steel and will not contaminate the resulting gold. The required time is less than 10 minutes for a relatively complete removal of the mercury from the gold amalgam.

3. FREE MERCURY FILTER: Currently the artisanal miners squeeze the mercury/amalgam mixture to separate the free mercury to be used again for extraction. Zaphire Technologies designed a safer piston-filter system to separate the free mercury. The current technique (cloth filtration) will affect human health with time and may not separate the fine amalgam particles from the free mercury if the proper cloth is not selected, which leads to poor gold recovery.

PRODUCT BRIEF:  The Ultra Gold Processor from Mine-Tech is far more than a conventional dry washer. It is a complete, portable screening plant that classifies your material through the use of vibratory screens. By opening more of the air inlet holes in the bellows and running the machine with less slope angle the heavier damp material will have more time to breakdown on the screens and the additional air flow will lift the heavier materials over the riffles, as well as partially dry the materials. Re-running your tailings in this situation is also advisable.
