OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (AMBROSDEN, ARNCOTT, BLACKTHORN, MERTON AND PIDDINGTON PARISHES) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**

The Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 82 & 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to that Act, hereby make the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Oxfordshire County Council (Ambrosden, Arncott, Blackthorn, Merton and Piddington Parishes) (Speed Limits) Order 2020 and shall come into force on the day of 20**.

2. The roads in Merton specified in Schedule 1 to this Order are restricted roads for the purposes of section 81 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

3. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour in any length of road specified in Schedule 1 to this Order.

4. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour in any length of road specified in Schedule 2 to this Order.

5. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour in any length of road specified in Schedule 3 to this Order.

6. No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to a vehicle falling within Regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011, being a vehicle used for naval, military or air force purposes, when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those regulations.

7. The Oxfordshire County Council (Ambrosden, Arncott, Blackthorn, Merton and Piddington Parishes) (Speed Limits) Order 2020 is hereby revoked/replaced.

SCHEDULE 1 30 miles per hour: AMBROSDEN a) Home Farm Close for its entire length b) Merton Road from its junction with Ploughley Road south- westwards to a point 82 182 metres southwest of its junction with Home Farm Close c) Old Arncott Road for its entire length

1 d) Park Rise for its entire length e) Ploughley Road from a point 214 metres north of its junction with West Hawthorn Road, southwards to a point 87 metres south of its junction with Old Arncott Road f) The unnamed road from its junction with Ploughley Road eastwards running north- to a point 24 metres northeast of its junction with eastwards to the Quintan Avenue. ARNCOTT The whole length of every road in the village of Arncott, extending (in the case of the respective roads leading out of the village) to the following points: a) Buchanan Road 95 metres northeast of its junction with Mill Lane b) Murcott Road 25 metres south of its junction with Arncott Wood Road c) Palmer Avenue 40 metres east of the roundabout junction with Ploughley Road d) Ploughley Road 500 metres northwest of the roundabout junction with Palmer Avenue.

MERTON The whole length of every road in the village of Merton, extending (in the case of the respective roads leading out of the village) to the following points: a) Otmoor View 170 metres southwest of the junction with access to Merton Village Hall. b) Street Through 175 metres northeast & eastwards of the junction Otmoor with Manor Farm Close.

PIDDINGTON The whole length of every road in the village of Piddington extending (in the case of the respective roads leading out of the village) to the following points: a) Arncott Road a point 137 metres west of its junction with Lower End. b) Lower Road a point 596 metres north of its junction with Arncott Road. c) Ludgershall Road a point 185 metres north-east of its junction with Thame Road. d) Thame Road a point 275 metres south-west of its junction with Vicarage Lane.
