We hope to replicate the success of the World CBT Congress held in 1980 in Jerusalem. The list of keynotes, workshops, skills sessions, symposia and workshops suggests that we will. The program will include cutting edge research as well as diverse clinical presentations delivered by world renowned CBT clinicians and researchers. The content is being developed equally for scientists, practitioners and scientist-practitioners. We are committed to present cross-cultural topics and CBT related potential to peace-making and conflict resolution. We plan interesting and entertaining cultural and social activities. Israel is a modern, multicultural, “startup nation”. Jerusalem is a 3000-year old city, sacred to three major religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Its uniqueness, lying in the meeting of past and present makes it an ideal city to tour.     Research Report Leiden Model United Nations 2017 ~ fresh ideas, new solutions ~ Forum: General Assembly Third Committee Issue: Humanitarian access in conflict areas Student Officer: Madelief van den Nieuwenhof Position: Deputy Chair Introduction Humanitarian access comprises these two concepts: Humanitarian actors' ability to reach populations in need, and the affected population’s access to assistance and services. Access is therefore a fundamental prerequisite to effective humanitarian action. Full and unimpeded access is essential to establish operations, move goods and personnel where they are needed, implement distributions, provide health services and carry out other activities, and for affected populations to fully benefit from the assistance and services made available. Sadly, not all humanitarian aid is so easy to achieve, due to many constraints and circumstances. Many of these constraints are being worked on but still many, if not all of these problems are not fully solved yet. Conflict areas always have different circumstances which changes the ways for humanitarian access and for the population to access these services. For example, health workers and medical facilities are still receiving threats and medical structures are targeted and destroyed in Syria. Also, because of the danger that patients often receive going to these hospitals, looking at threats and torture, makes them doubt or scared to still receive this medical help. This makes it hard for both parties, the population and the humanitarian actors to fully endorse the needed aid.     MAvı MARMARA AND HER PASSENGERS wıll FOREVER HAVE theır PLACE ın hıstORY AS DEFENDERS OF humanıtY AND justıce Kenneth O’Keefe 3 April 2011 / The Gaza Strip Kenneth O’Keefe (1969) is an American-born citizen who renounced his U.S. citizenship in March 2001, and now is a naturalised Irish, Palestin- ian and Hawaiian citizen. He also proclaims himself a “World Citizen”. Ken O’Keefe is an entrepreneur, marine conservationist, human rights and peace activist. As an ex-U.S. Marine who served in the 1991 Gulf War and witnessed the abuse of power there, he founded the Truth Justice Peace Human Shield Action in Iraq in 2002 before the second Iraq War and led the human shield action there. In 2004, he founded P10K – a group of Westerners intended to act as international observ- ers in the Occupied Palestinian territories and help bring peace with Israel. In 2009, he and Lauren Booth, sister-in-law of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, founded Aloha Palestine – a social enter- prise to conduct safe trade with Palestinians in Gaza. In 2007, Ken O’Keefe joined the Free Gaza Movement, and in August 2008, served as a captain and first mate in the first see voyage that break the siege of Gaza in forty-one years.
