• Ran cross country, track, and Nordic skied. • 1973 graduate lettered in Nordic skiing and track • In 1972, successfully sued the MSHSL for discrimination toward female athletes and Title IX legislation was implemented shortly after • State Champion in the half-mile and mile races in 1973 • Set the national record in the half mile with time of 2:18.3. • Numerous state champions in AAU track and cross country events.

• Long time teacher & coach at Hopkins Eisenhower High School • Created and coached the first ever boys swim team in Hopkins • Taught Social Studies and Psychology • Created a mandated water safety program for all Hopkins children • Dual meet record of 218-21 • Teams won District and Lake Conference Championships – 12 times • Teams were state meet runner-up 7 times • Coached 3 State Championship teams • Named Swim Coach of the Decade (1960’s) • First ballot inductee to Minnesota Coaches Hall of Fame • Great coach, Teacher, Motivator, Friend, Spouse and Father
