After reviewing broadcast footage of the Incident and consulting the DSA, the RD determined that there was no evidence of a breach of the Rules by the Driver of Car #18. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed The Stewards imposed a 5 second Time Penalty on Car #12, Fabian Coulthard, for a breach of Article 2.1.1 of Schedule B2 (Careless Driving) following contact between Car #12 and Car #2, Bryce Fullwood, at Turn 14 on Lap 15 as a result of which Car #2 was pushed wide and Car #12 gained a position. Matters from Race 17: Race Director Incident Determinations There were no determinations. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed The Stewards issued the following Penalties during the Race in each case for a breach of Article 2.1.1 of Shcedule B2 (Careless Driving): - A 5 second Time Penalty on Car #55, Jack le Broq, arising out of an Incident at Turn 6 on Lap 23 when Car #55 locked brakes attempting to overtake Car #15, Rick Kelly, causing contact with Car #15 as a result of which Car #55 gained a position; - A 15 second Time Penalty on Car #25, Chaz Mostert, arising out of an Incident at Turn 1 on Lap 34 when Car #25 made contact with Car #8, Nick Percat, as a result of which Car #8 spun and lost positions; - A 15 second Time Penalty on Car #35, Garry Jacobson, arising out of an Incident at Turn 1 on Lap 37 when Car #35 made contact with Car #3, Macauley Jones, which caused Car #3 to spin.

Following a post-race DRD investigation into a report received from Supercars Technical during the Race, and an admission by Matt Stone Racing Pty Ltd, that during its compulsory pit stop, Car 35’s brake lock mechanism was not engaged in compliance with Rule C11.4.2.1, the Stewards imposed a fine of $250 on Matt Stone Racing Pty Ltd. Following a post-race DRD investigation (instigated following a request received from Blanchard Racing) and an admission of a breach of the Code of Driving Conduct by Car 2, Bryce Fullwood, the Stewards imposed a penalty of the addition of 5 seconds to the Race Time of Car 2 in Race 19.

Marco Simoncelli and Alvaro Bautista have been the most consistent finishers in the MotoGP 250cc category, each scoring in 13 of the 15 races this year and are first and second in the riders' standings with one race remaining, in Valencia at the end of October. With his third place finish in Malaysia mid-October, seconds behind Bautista at the chequered flag, it was Simoncelli who was crowned the 2008 250cc champion and the Italian celebrated by completing a helmet-less victory lap around the track. Simoncelli has scored five wins to Bautista's four so far this year, but the Italian has consistently finished on the podium. Mid-season he was on devastating form, finishing second to Mika Kallio in France, and then winning the Spanish and German Grands Prix, finishing second in Britain, and third at the Dutch Grand Prix. Bautista had fallen far behind by the time the bikes lined up in Spain, having scored one win, but just 16 more points in the Mike di Meglio wins the Australian 125cc race and Dunlop's 12th straight category title opening six races. The Porsche EBM customer team tackles the Bathurst 12-hour race in Australia With a prominent creW: The tWo Porsche Works drivers Earl Bamber (New Zealand) and Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) share the cockpit of the Porsche 911 GT3 R With Australia’s motor racing legend Craig LoWndes. At the season-opening round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, the EBM squad are eager to repeat their suc- cess from last year. In 2018, the team under the Le Mans Winner Earl Bamber claimed the first Porsche Win at Mount Panorama. Thanks to this victory, the 911 GT3 R fielded by EBM takes up the race sporting the starting number one. For the event DoWn Under, 40 vehicles from eleven manufacturers line up on the grid to con- test the most important championship for GT3 sports cars. LoWndes is one of the most successful drivers on the 6.213-kilometre Mount Pano- rama Circuit. He has Won the famous long-distance Bathurst 1000 race seven times. Moreover, the 45-year-old clinched overall victory at the tWelve-hour event in 2014 and 2017. Last year, LoWndes took up the race from P19 and fought his Way up the order to finish on fourth. His other notable successes over and above his Bathurst feats Were in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. He won the Australian touring car series three times and received the Barry Sheene Medal for his outstand- ing performances five times.

Matters from Race 27: Race Director Incident Determinations There were no determinations. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed The Stewards imposed a 15 second Time Penalty on Car #97, Shane van Gisbergen, for a breach of Article 2.1.1 of Schedule B2 (Careless Driving) following an Incident at Turn 17 on Lap 1 when Car #97 turned-in on Car #7, Andre Heimgartner, causing car #7 to spin and lose positions. Cars following attempted to avoid contact with Car #7 which resulted in Incidents involving multiple Cars. Cars #44, James Courtney, and #18, Mark Winterbottom, sustained damage and were unable to continue in the Race. No Driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for the Incidents which followed the contact between Cars #97 and #7. These subsequent Incidents were not a direct or foreseeable consequence of the Driver of Car #97’s breach. Following an Incident at Turn 6 on Lap 2 involving contact between Car #2, Bryce Fullwood, and Car #34, Zane Goddard, which caused Car #34 to lose positions, the Stewards imposed a 15 second Time Penalty on Car #2 for a breach of Article 2.1.1 of Schedule B2 (Careless Driving).
