Hudson High School 2021 Prom Guidelines Non Hudson Guest Guidelines:

Non-Hudson students attending prom as the guest of a junior or senior Hudson student must follow the same and behavior guidelines as Hudson High School student attendees. Students who wish to bring an out-of-town/out-of-school guest must provide the individual’s name, school attending or city of residence, graduation year to the principal/designee for approval at least ONE WEEK prior to prom. Out of-town students/guests must be under the age of 21. Students will not be able to purchase a ticket for an out-of-town or out-of district guest without prior principal approval. ALCOHOL AND OTHER INTOXICATING SUBSTANCES:

Any student in possession of or under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances will be asked to leave the premises, and law enforcement officers WILL be called to intervene. Any student or guest who arrives under the influence of intoxicating substances will not be allowed to enter the Prom and will be required to leave the premises. Any student who is reprimanded for infractions related to intoxicating substances WILL be subject to all Handbook penalties governing said infractions. GENERAL BEHAVIOR:

Students and their guests will be expected to conduct themselves according to the Student Code of Conduct at all times. Any disrespectful, defiant, obscene, or obnoxious behavior by a student or his/her guest at the Prom will subject the student to all Handbook regulations governing inappropriate behavior. No refunds will be given for students who are asked to leave the Prom for or Disciplinary violations. NO RE-ENTRY:

There will be no re-entry to the prom. Once you and/or your guest enter the facility and relinquish your ticket(s) to the event, you and/or your guest are prohibited from leaving and re-entering the facility. DRESS CODE:

The following dress code is applicable to all students and guests who wish to enter the Prom. All guests must comply with all school and Code of Conduct requirements. If you have questions concerning your dress, it is your responsibility to seek prior approval from administration.

Any questions regarding dress should be resolved before that evening. Any student or guest that fails to meet any of the following conditions will be denied entry to the event. Dress Code for Young Men:

Dress , nice pants, and nice/clean is required. A tie and is strongly recommended. All pants must be securely worn around the . The principal’s/designee’s decision is FINAL. Dress Code for Young Women:

May wear a dress, pantsuit, or that meets the following guidelines. The outfit may not be made of see-through material. Strapless are allowed if they meet the guidelines. Open styles are allowed, but need to cover the lower back area. All dresses must cover the midriff area completely. The sides of the midriff area must also be covered. Front necklines shall not be lower than a line formed between the right and left armpit. This guideline governs cleavage and the principal’s/designee’s decision is FINAL. The dress length and all slits cannot exceed mid-thigh. Dress Code Violations:

Any student or guest that in not in compliance with the dress code will be turned away at the door. At any point during the event if a student or guest is found to be in violation of the dress code, they will be required to leave. The principal’s/designee’s decision is FINAL. DRESS GUIDELINES FRONT Dresses may not be cut below the bust line. The bust continues around your sides directly under the armpit.

Bust Line Unacceptable Dresses

BACK Dresses may be backless as long as they are not cut below the navel.

Unacceptable Dresses

MIDRIFFS Midriffs will not be exposed. This includes both front and side. With arms down at your side, if flesh touches flesh in the midriff section, the dress is inappropriate. Midriff Section Unacceptable Dresses

LENGTH

Dresses may not be shorter than, nor have a slit that exceeds mid thigh as determined by the standard fingertip rule.

If skin from the bust, midriff, lower back, and/or length shows it is unacceptable. Pinning and Fabric Inserts

• No pinning will be allowed as an alteration for a dress if without the pins the dress does not meet dress code.

• Fabric inserts must be sewn not pinned on the dress if without the inserts the dress does not meet dress code.

• No cover-ups (, , ) will be allowed over dresses that do not meet dress code.

While we will be reasonable in our interpretation of these guidelines, we want you to know that you will not be allowed into the dance if you are dressed inappropriately.

It is the responsibility of you, the student or guest, to resolve any and all questions concerning any of the terms and conditions listed in this agreement prior to the date of the Prom. If you and/or your guest fail to meet any of the terms or conditions listed in this agreement or written in the Student Code of Conduct, you understand that you and/or your guest will be required to leave the event and that no refund of the ticket price will be issued.
