I can't recommend this to anyone in it's current state. No full screen, graphics phasing in and out of existence, and the AWESOME SOUNDTRACK is absent. C'mon, Interplay.put a little elbow grease into this and make it right. EDIT: My own DOSBox illiteracy was the problem with full screen.. When I said blood was the best FPS build engine game. I didn't mean that it was my favorite. There is this one article on the internet where it said "if blood was duke nukem 3D's cool goth brother, then redneck rampage was always the weird cousin that turns up drunk to family gatherings - rude, crude and dumb as a sack of hammers". Which there not wrong, this game is pretty much country justice done right. And then there is its sequel where you can shove dynamite up a chickens I approve. The weapons are ok. Nothing really to crazy besides a gun that shoots sawblades, a dynamite launcher and "the teat gun" which is a gun that is designed to be a pair of breasts. Also leonard and bubba are some of the best video game protagonists I have ever had the honor of playing, obviously not because they are deep characters with tragic back stories. Its because there crazy, stupid and they love to blowup. The only complaint I have is that the damage you conflict seems to be off, like it takes 6 shots from the scatter gun to kill a dog.. One of my all time favourite games! I definitely recommend this old classic to anyone who likes their silly sense of humor and violence to go with it. Still a pretty decent looking game to this day (albeit it obviously dated) it was one of the best looking shooters of its time. For some reason I am unable to set it to the maximum resolution the options offer however it still has a DOS Setup option which are super handy for these kind of old games.. Why hate on this its an OLD Game.. GAME: The best Trump-voter simulator ever made. Grab a copy, some moonshine, your MAKE 'MURICA GREAT AGAIN cap, your cousins and get ready for some killbilly action. Rating: 10/10 braincells. PORT: This Steam port is beyond broken. No addons, graphics flashing, can't change controls, no original music. This is totally lazy. Worth .99c not $9.99. Avoid.. Redneck Rampage is an interactive work of art about a man named Leonard who is going through a painful experience, we follow him battling himself within his mind which is depicted by many in-game symbolisms, the soundtrack and an overall feeling of sorrow. Redneck Rampage boasts the most amazing artwork, littered with ever-changing vibrant colours utilised in varying alien shooting whilst weaving the undertones of sorrow, alcoholism and depression throughout the game, making for an extremely unique and atmospheric experience. Redneck Rampage is the perfect example of an atmospheric and story rich game that doesn't rely on words. It relies heavily on its symbolism, artwork and an impeccable soundtrack. The combination of these three elements make for an completely immersive experience. We, as the player are not told exactly what the protagonist is going through, although, there are some hints if you find the extras in the game, it is left mainly to the player to interpret and I believe, an attempt to make the game more relatable to more people, In which I also believe it succeeds in. Despite such a substantial focus being on the artwork, the gameplay was not forgotten and it adds beautifully to the context of the game. It features alien shooting that progress throughout the chapters, starting from shooting clone aliens, then dung aliens, jacked-up aliens and to titt.y aliens, adding different elements that aid in maintaining player's interest and preventing repetitions. I cannot recommend this game enough to those who are interested in story rich games with an appreciation for stunning design. Redneck Rampage conveys exactly what it set out to do and does so beautifully. You will get many screenshots out of this game, it is hard to resist! 10/10. When people talk about games as Art - this is it.. Great game from the past running in DosBOX. Only one issue I can't seem to get my controller to work. Other than that it seems great.. Worst port ever. Graphics flckering so much it will give you a headache.. This release is a mess. No DLCs included, DOSBox isn't configured correctly right away and no music. Make sure to search the forums for the fan patch if you consider purchasing this game.. First off this game isn't for everybody, but I'm one of those people its for. The game has a unique art style (looks like something from adult swim), a likable protagonist, good voice acting, and sound design. The controls are responsive, and the weapon felt soild to use. This paper delves into the structure and motivations of blending by reporting on the results of the analysis of a corpus of 80 blends gathered from the field of videogaming. The starting point will be a multidimensional description based on a set of parameters and values drawn on previous works by, among others, Kemmer (2003), Ronneberger-Sibold (2006) and Mattiello (2013). In accordance with the principles of Prototype Theory (Lakoff 1987; Langacker 1987), the combination of values displayed by the items results in an overall degree of typicality and will allow their location in the centre or the periphery of the category. The theoretical framework will be put into practice in the analysis of a corpus of blends naming videogames. Most of them are found to be prototypical items, the most common type being the so-called “overlapping” blend (Splatoon: splat + platoon). Lastly, concerning the motivations for the creation of blends in this particular field, these items succeed in economically capturing key features of the game so as to awaken the interest of potential buyers. Moreover, blends anticipate the humorous, puzzling or creative qualities of the game they name and wink at the players’ inventiveness to work out rules.
