Did you receive a coronavirus SMS? Since 1 2021, in line with section 36 (10) sentence 1 no. 3 of the Protection Against Infection Act in connection with the Ordinance on Coronavirus Entry Regulations, German mobile network op- erators have been sending text messages containing current coronavirus information from the Federal Government to travellers entering Germany. What rules apply to me?

The following overview will inform you of the obligations with respect to SARS-CoV-2 corona- virus when entering the Federal Republic of Germany. Please note: Exemptions may apply with regard to the obligations to register, provide a test result or quarantine.

What should I be aware of when travelling and during my stay in Germany?

 You can protect yourself and others by reducing your number of contacts and following the DHM+A rules (maintaining a Distance + proper Hygiene + wearing a Mask when there is little space + Airing): https://www.infektionsschutz.de/coronavirus/alltag-in- zeiten-von-corona.html

 Medical facemasks (also known as surgical masks) or FFP2 masks (including KN95 and N95) are more effective in terms of protection than community masks. That is why you must wear medical facemasks in public transport as well as in shops. It is generally rec- ommended that you use medical facemasks when in-doors.  If you have symptoms typical of an infection with the coronavirus (coughing, fever, runny nose, or loss of your sense of smell or taste), please call your general practitioner or the out-of-hours patient care services (www.116117.de / Tel. 116117). Proceed to a suitable accommodation, self-isolate and do not receive any visitors.
