The black screen fades to reveal a blue sky horizon over blue water. A small boat moves across the screen.
Stuart the minion, wearing a coat, groans as he paddles the boat.
Cut to the minions Bob and Kevin, wearing coats, rowing and groaning. Bob collapses onto Kevin as his stomach growls, and he whimpers. Kevin speaks gibberish to him.
KEVIN: (speaking gibberish)
Cut to Stuart, leaning back as he holds the oar. His eye widens as he speaks.
STUART: Huh? Banana?
Cut to Bob and Kevin, shaped like bananas. Kevin speaks to Stuart.
KEVIN: Uh, Stuart? (speaks gibberish)
Stuart, looking frantic, yells and runs towards Kevin and Bob with his arms wide open.
STUART: (stammers) Banana!
A close-up reveals Bob and Kevin, still shaped like bananas, screaming and cowering.
Stuart tackles Bob, then licks his face. Both blubber. Kevin pushes Stuart off, then slaps him. Stuart attempts to grab Kevin's face as Bob pulls Kevin back and tries to eat him. All grunt as they struggle.
MALE NARRATOR: Minions.
A camera shutter clicks.
NARRATOR: Have you ever wondered where they came from?
A series of quick cuts of the minions is revealed in a tape rewinding fashion.
A group of minions walks on a beach, wearing leafy bottoms and green goggles. Stuart lags behind them, wearing no leafy bottom, looks down, flails wildly, then runs back into the ocean. He resurfaces wearing two starfish on his chest and sighs happily. "Under Pressure" plays in the background.
NARRATIVE: They've been on this planet far longer than we have. They're all different.
The minions continue walking along the beach, following a large fish creature. A large dinosaur foot steps on the fish creature.
NARRATOR: But they all share the same goal...
The dinosaur is revealed to be a T-Rex in a close-up shot. The T-Rex roars at the minions.
A one-eyed minion stands before the crowd, points at the T-Rex, and screams.
MINION: Boss!
Cut to the minions riding on the T-Rex's back as it stomps across a prehistoric landscape.
NARRATOR: To find the biggest, baddest villain to serve.
A large boulder rolls up behind, then below the T-Rex, who balances on it as minions fly off behind it.
Cut to the group of minions running through a rainforest and chattering wildly.
The T-Rex balances and grunts on the boulder as it stops atop of a sharp cliff. Volcanoes explode in the background.
A single minions rolls quickly to the edge of the cliff, stopping just in front of the boulder as the T-Rex continues balancing on it. The minion giggles so hard that he hits his head on the boulder, sending it and the T-Rex off the cliff. The T-Rex shrieks as it drops below.
MINION: Oof. (laughs)
The minions watch from the edge of the cliff as the T-Rex shrieks and a volcanic explosion erupts from the bottom of the cliff. The minions cry and wail.
Cut to the minions wearing loincloths and standing beside a gruff caveman holding a club. A large bear snarls and stands to the other side of the caveman. He stares back at them as one minion holds up a makeshift flyswatter and speaks to the caveman as the entire minion group giggles excitedly.
NARRATOR: Finding a master was easy.
MINION: A piñata.
The caveman swats the bear's face with the makeshift flyswatter. The bear growls and tackles him. The caveman screams.
The minions scream.
Cut to a couple of minions holding shields and standing on top of a stone castle. A fancifully dressed knight holding a sword skips over to the minions, then slips in a pile of water as the minions laugh. The sword drops into the knight's chest, stopping the laughter.
NARRATOR: Keeping a master...
A pair of minions dressed in blue military uniforms stand atop of a cannon. Napoleon stands beside them. One of the minions walks towards the edge of the cannon and laughs as the cannon points downwards, then explodes, blasting Napoleon away.
MINION: Badaboom!
NARRATOR: That's where things got tricky.
Napoleon screams and flies through the air as an army screams and races forward.
A group of minions dressed in army regalia charge forward, screaming.
A group of minions wearing purple robes surround a coffin as a vampire sits up and looks around.
MINION: Ooh!
NARRATOR: No, it wasn't easy for these guys.
The minions pull purple drapes open, revealing bright sunlight. They hold up a birthday sign and a cake with number candles reading, "357."
ON SCREEN TEXT: Happy Birthday 357
The vampire gasps and turns white. One of the minions blows out the candles on the cake, sending the vampire into a puff of dust. A minion sneezes.
MINION: Uh... (chuckles)
NARRATOR: But nonetheless, they kept on looking...

Kangaroos bounce across a desert outback landscape with minions inside of their pouches.
A close-up reveals a minion sitting in the pouch with goggles on, moaning.
A split screen reveals a rocky Australian cliff on the left side. Minions stand at the edge of it, stacked one-by-one. They collapse over the to the right side to a dark cliff. A bright sign reading "India" stands between palm trees.

Two minions walk across a city bridge. Uplifting music plays as the shot zooms out revealing the skyline of New York City and yellow text reading, "42 years B.G. (Before Gru)."

A puppy barks at Stuart beside a yellow fire hydrant. Stuart begins talking tenderly to the hydrant.
STUART: Ohh! Hello, papa. (speaks gibberish)
A fade from black reveals Stuart standing in front of a brightly lit show sign reading, "Scarlet Overkill."
ON SCREEN TEXT: SCARLET OVERKILL
MALE ANNOUNCER: Ladies and gentlemen, Scarlet Overkill!
Cut to the inside of a theater. Crowds of people cheer.
SCARLET: Have any of you ever dreamt of working for the greatest supervillain of all time?
Stuart, Kevin, and Bob sit in seats in the crowd and look up excitedly. Bob yells.
Cut to a large red-lit stage. A silhouette of Scarlet Overkill appears onstage.
The crowd cheers as Kevin speaks.
KEVIN: Bella!
Scarlet blasts out from the stage wearing a large red dress with rockets on the bottom.
A man with a mustache dressed as Scarlet yells.
MAN: I love you, Scarlet!
Rock music plays as Scarlet flies over the minions.
Scarlet flies up, adjusts her dress, then begins to descend down.
Stuart, Kevin, and Bob sit below in awe.
Cut to Kevin looking out a small circular window of a large red lightning bolt-shaped rocket.
SCARLET: These are the new recruits.
Stuart, Bob, and Kevin stand together in front of a large laboratory holding various objects. Bob, with a robotic claw attached to his arm, panics and yelps to Scarlet.
BOB: Scarlet--Scarlet--(speaks gibberish)
SCARLET: No, no. Don't say anything.
Scarlet and Herb stand in front of a large computer board with many buttons and speak to the minions.
SCARLET: I won't understand.
Cut to a large tank with a zigzagging glowing line cuts out Scarlet's silhouette as yellow text cast credits appear on-screen. The cutout falls over, and Scarlet stands in the silhouette. Hip-hop music plays.
ON SCREEN TEXT: Sandra Bullock as SCARLET OVERKILL
Scarlet punches various men as they shriek.
Scarlet stands in front of an ornate photo of a woman dressed as a queen. The minions stand before her.
SCARLET: Do you know who this is?
Kevin and Bob stand beside a pile of gold. Kevin squints and speaks to Scarlet.
KEVIN: La cucaracha?
Scarlet continues speaking to the minions.
SCARLET: This is Queen Elizabeth.
A close-up reveals Bob smiling excitedly.
BOB: Eh?
Scarlet continues speaking. Herb stands to the side, smirking.
SCARLET: And I really, really, really want her crown.
Cut to several quick shots in a bird's-eye-view, revealing a large castle and Buckingham Palace.
A close-up reveals a small window in a stone wall. The minions run across the window, up stairs.
MAN: You came for the Queen's crown, did you?
A crouching old man, fancifully dressed and holding a walking cane, speaks to the minions.
MAN: Well, you're gonna have to get through me!
The minions and the man stand on opposite sides of a large glass tube with the queen's crown on a pillow inside. The minions laugh.
Kevin mocks the man while holding a laser gun. The man's cane pops in from the side of the screen and whacks Kevin on the head.
KEVIN: (speaks mockingly) Ow!
The man screams at the minions, whacking the minions with his cane.
MAN: Get out!
The man hits Kevin between the legs with the cane as Kevin wails, then looks down and laughs.
KEVIN: Huh? (laughs)
Text reading "introducing Kevin, Stuart, and Bob" appears on a white background. Rock music plays.
ON SCREEN TEXT: introducing kevin, stuart & bob
Royal guards surround the glass tube containing the queen's crown as the shot zooms up to reveal the minions sitting on top of the tube.
MINIONS: (speaking gibberish)
Cut to Bob dressed as a woman in front of the castle as he speaks to a man wearing a striped shirt and beret.
BOB: (speaks gibberish in high-pitched voice)
Bob lifts the chest part of the woman outfit to reveal Kevin peeking out. The man exclaims.
BOB: (speaks gibberish)
MAN: (exclaims)
Cut to Stuart swinging into a royal carriage. Queen Elizabeth sits inside. He drops onto her lap.
STUART: Hello!
Kevin sits at the front, steering the horses of the carriage.
KEVIN: (speaks gibberish)
Queen Elizabeth stands up in the carriage and adjusts her dress as she speaks to Stuart sternly. She slaps him across the face and begins beating him up. Stuart yelps.
QUEEN ELIZABETH: Gentlemen do not steal ladies' crowns!
Horses whinny as the carriage races down a street. A man tumbles out of it.
Bob stands on a balcony, wearing a fur-lined cape and the royal crown, with a microphone in his hand as he yelps.
BOB: King!
A crowd stands before the balcony and cheers.
Bob drops the microphone.
Cut to Scarlet yelling and holding a large weapon.
SCARLET: You backstabbing little traitors!
Kevin sits on a corgi in the royal palace holding a croquet mallet and yells.
KEVIN: For victory!
Kevin swings the croquet mallet and hits a ball, which bounces onto Scarlet's forehead. The corgi then flies to Scarlet's forehead.
SCARLET: Ah!
Scarlet angrily pulls the corgi off of her face. The corgi pants and licks her.
Kevin, Stuart, and Bob sit together, dressed in various different outfits, and smile.
KEVIN: Scarlet!
Scarlet walks toward the minions angrily.
SCARLET: Don't you "Scarlet" me.
The minions cower back in fear.
MAN (singing): Wanna be the villain with you.
Text reading "Illumination presents 'Minions'" appears on a white background. A goggle-covered eyeball appears in the middle of the "o" in "Minions" and looks around.
ON SCREEN TEXT: ILLUMINATION PRESENTS MINIONS
Scarlet walks the minions into a dark room, then slams a door shut. The minions whimper as the camera zooms out, revealing various torture devices. Scarlet speaks to them through a small hole in the door.
SCARLET: I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but I hate you.
Quick cuts reveal a guillotine and hanging rope in the large torture room as Herb Overkill, wearing a black mask, pulls a lever.
HERB: This is torture!
The floor falls beneath Kevin, who is hanging from the rope. He whimpers and plops through the neck hole of the rope. The minions giggle. Bob then jumps through the rope and plops down, laughing. Stuart swings around on it, giggling.
KEVIN: (whimpers) Oh. Ah!
HERB: Guys! Cut it out. This is really unprofessional.

Stuart opens an ornate blue and gold door.
A shot from behind reveals Stuart walking into a luxurious swimming pool area wearing a pink thong with a towel draped across his back. His feet squeak on the floor.
Stuart sits in a hot tub between two yellow fire hydrants, smiling, embracing, and kissing them.
STUART: Me bellas. Rawr!
