Calling and vocation are funny things. I regularly meet people like myself who find themselves exactly where they NEVER thought they’d be. And yet it has been the best thing they could have done. It is surprising how God equips us so that, when we are ready, we can step out and become our very best selves. That is key… that the calling we each have is unique. It is as unique as we are. We each have our part to play. But all Christians do have a single focus, and Chapter House at St Robert’s, Pannal that is to follow Christ. We are all called to dedicate ourselves to loving God, ourselves and our neighbours above all other things. How we do that is unique. The Chapter House is available for hire at the following rates: And at different times in our lives this calling will be different. For example, Half Day/Evening £40 some of us will be called to care for elderly relatives for a time. Others may be called by God to set aside a particular job or working environment. Some may All Day £75 feel called to some voluntary work briefly or for a longer period. This includes full use of the car park/kitchen /toilets etc. The How do we know when we are called to something? This is one of the hardest kitchen is very well equipped with a dishwasher, coffee machine, areas for anyone to give an answer. My own experience tells me that when you are called to something you will be nudged in that direction by lots of different water boiler. The Chapter House has a projector screen, tables, means, and that when you explore that path you will feel a deep sense of peace comfortable chairs and can be set out to suit a huge variety of about it, even though it may not be an easy choice. events. At present, there are two big questions of calling in our churches. St Michael’s PCC is asking where we are being called as regards our planned building For further details, please contact the church office: telephone works, and who will play a part in fulfilling our missional expansion. At St (01423) 873577 or e-mail [email protected] Robert’s we are wondering who will be called in this year to the voluntary role of churchwarden; a big responsibility but also a hugely privileged role. I hope we all feel called to pray and deeply consider if we are called to play a larger part in encouragement or involvement in these ways. I know from experience what an incredible feeling comes from being where God calls us to be. ROBERT’S, PANNAL AND ST. MICHAEL & ALL ANGELS, BECKWITHSHAW PCC Statement Under Section 11 of the Patronage (Benefices) Measure 1986 Introduction We are two welcoming and friendly communities of faith. We have an exciting opportunity in a lovely part of Yorkshire at a time when there are real opportunities to be grasped and developed in our recently expanded Parishes. St Robert’s Church is a thriving worshipping community of about 200 Christians situated at the centre of the village of Pannal, a beautiful Yorkshire village, on the southern edge of Harrogate. There is something for every age group at St Robert’s. We enjoy a variety of worship, from ‘Pub Praise’ and a sunrise service on Easter morning to Morning Worship. Pannal village and Conservation Area lie in the Crimple Valley and the Parish Church of St Robert of Knaresborough provides the focal point within the village. St Robert’s, Pannal, is the only Anglican Church in the country dedicated to St Robert of Knaresborough. The Parish of Pannal includes Burn Bridge and parts of the southern suburbs of Harrogate.

  • Pannal and Burn Bridge Parish Council
Pannal and Burn Bridge Parish Council – New Parish Council Created - The Story Of How A New Parish Council Was Created In The Previously Un-parished Village of Pannal and Burn Bridge Headlines The villages of Pannal and Burn Bridge are in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire. This case study tells the story of how the Pannal Village Society triggered a Community Governance Review, successfully establishing a parish council for Pannal and Burn Bridge. The case study provides an example of good practice for campaigns aspiring to establish a town and parish council, giving advice on how to build a good relationship with the principal authority and how to overcome challenges throughout the campaign. Currently Pannal and Burn Bridge Parish Council is due to have its first elections in May 2016 and campaign leaders are working towards encouraging residents to stand for election. What is the theme? - Why A Council Is Wanted Pannal and Burn Bridge wish to establish a parish council as it would increase their ability to manage their assets and to influence development plans in their area, being a legacy of the Pannal Village Society. The Pannal Village Society was created in the early 1990s under the initiative of Eric Waight, a District Councillor at the time, who had a firm commitment that Pannal was missing out by not having a parish council. Parish Councils are statutory consultees in planning matters and, as such, have to be consulted on planning issues within their parish and, in Harrogate, have an opportunity to present their views to the relevant meetings.

  • Emergency Active Travel Fund Tranche 2.Pdf
North Yorkshire County Council Business and Environmental Services Briefing Note for Corporate Director, Business and Environmental Services and BES Executive Member for Access 6 August 2020 Emergency Active Travel Fund - Tranche 2 1.0 Purpose of Briefing Note 1.1 The Government has recently announced £2bn funding over 5 years for walking and cycling facilities. The indicative allocation from the Department for Transport (DfT) was that the NYCC allocation for the current year (20/21) would be in the region of £1.3m spread across two tranches, with a smaller amount, £133,000 of that money already released under tranche 1 of the Emergency Active Travel Fund (EATF). In tranche 1 the total indicative allocation to NYCC was £266,000 but only 50% funding was awarded following the DfT assessment of our Tranche 1 bid. A proposal to fund the other £133,000 and complete all of the schemes set out in the tranche 1 bid given the importance of the proposed measures to the Covid-19 recovery strategy is the subject of a separate briefing note. The split of tranche 1 funding from the DfT is £4,143 capital and £128,857 revenue. 1.2 Brief feedback about the tranche 1 bid was received from the DfT and they felt that our bid could have focussed more on replacing public transport trips with cycling rather than creating space for walking and cycling in town centre areas. Walking has a much bigger modal share than cycling in our county and we focussed our efforts in aiming to providing such improvements however the DfT felt that we were not able to cause a large enough modal shift from Public Transport.

  • North Eastern Railway Civil Engineering Drawings List
North Eastern Railway Civil Engineering Drawings List Description: The collection includes a minority of architectural plans, along with drawings of structures such as bridges and viaducts, maps of permanent way routes and alterations, signalling plans and diagrams, with a variety of miscellaneous components for structures and infrastructure. The collection comprises approximately 3500 plans, diagrams and maps on paper, wax linen and linen- backed cartridge paper. System of arrangement: The original arrangement of the drawings has been lost and they derive from a wide variety of applications within the architectural and civil engineering genres. The drawings have therefore been listed in the rolls in which they were found, and every effort made to record the variety of numbering systems used at different times by the railway company departments involved in creating and storing the drawings, representative of the different types of drawing. There is no one single and consistent numbering arrangement. Physical Characteristics: The drawings survive in a variety of formats and sizes – there are wax linen tracings, colour washed linenbacked original office drawings, drawings on cartridge paper, blueprints and other copying processes. Administrative/Biographical History: The North Eastern Railway Company was formed in 1854 as an amalgamation of the York & North Midland Railway, the Leeds Northern Railway and the York, Newcastle & Berwick Railway. It continued to absorb other companies in the north eastern region of England over subsequent decades, including the Stockton & Darlington Railway, South Durham and Lancashire Union Railway and the West Hartlepool Railway. In 1923 the various railway companies of the United Kingdom were grouped into four large amalgamations.

North Yorkshire County Council Business and Environmental Services Executive Members 26 July 2019 Harrogate Cycle Infrastructure Plan Report of the Assistant Director - Highways and Transportation 1.0 Purpose of the report 1.1 To seek approval for the phase one report of the Harrogate cycle infrastructure plan. 2.0 Background 2.1 In 2017 North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) commissioned WSP to prepare a cycle infrastructure plan for the Harrogate area. This piece of work is being carried out in broad accordance with the Governments suggested Local Walking and Cycling Infrastructure Plan (LWCIP) guidance though at this stage the Walking element has yet to be investigated. 2.2 The completed cycle infrastructure plan is intended to be used as a basis for future bids for funding from Government, and to enable NYCC to have more leverage when seeking funding from developers towards providing cycle infrastructure in the Harrogate area. 3.0 Phase one 3.1 Work on developing the Harrogate cycle infrastructure plan has been completed in two phases. The first phase saw the production of a cycle infrastructure plan. The aim of the infrastructure plan is to identify a series of priority corridors recommended to take forward for further development and draft design work in phase 2. The draft designs produced in phase two of the project are intended to form the basis of any future funding bids and at that stage will be subject to further detailed development and public / stakeholder engagement. 3.2 The work in phase one has been informed primarily by existing data, best practice and stakeholder input.
