Newsletter for OCTOBER 2013 The Parish Council met on 4 September 2013 after the summer recess and t decided to obtain a structural engineer's report on condition of the EYES MEADOW changing rooms. The Council have put a comments book in the porch at the Cemetery Lodge, if you are a regular visitor to the Cemetery and wish to make a comment please do so.

The Council is organising the annual firework and bonfire night and this will be held on Friday 1 November 2013 at 7pm on Eyes Meadow. Entry cost £2 by ticket purchased in advance or £3 on the night. Under 5's are free of charge.

The Council wishes to thank the individual who jet-washed the Wirksworth Corner area.

The Council has been informed by Derbyshire County Council that it intends to consult parishioners on the switching off of selected lampposts between the hours of 12 midnight and 5.30am. You should all receive a letter in due course. The consultation period will begin on 14 October 2013 and the plans can be viewed on line or at the Parish Office during opening hours.

Parish Council meetings are open to the public to attend to listen or address the Council on any Parish issues. Correspondence from parishioners is also reported to the meetings.

Full Council will meet on 2 October at 7pm at the Weston Centre and will consider the vacant property at 26 Hazelwood Road, the progress made on strategy for Eyes Meadow and the planning application at Duffield Hall.

The Recreational Committee will meet on 16 October at 7pm at Weston Centre and will consider the re-tendering of the Council's ground maintenance contract, a safety report on Gray Recreation Ground children's play area, litter bin provision on Eyes Meadow and rabbit control on Eyes Meadow.
