February 26, 2021 Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer, Alabama are voting to form a union with the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU). We are the writers of feature films and television series. All of our work is done under union contracts whether it appears on Amazon Prime, a different streaming service, or a television network. Unions protect workers with essential rights and benefits. Most importantly, a union gives employees a seat at the table to negotiate fair pay, scheduling and more workplace policies. Deadline Amazon accepts unions for entertainment workers, and we believe warehouse workers deserve the same respect in the workplace. We strongly urge all Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer to VOTE UNION YES. Aug. 29.1987 LOYALISTS CRUSH COUP Philippine rebels eppeared to have little support MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Loyal troops backed by helicopter gunships and low-level bombing seized strongholds of mutineers Friday to crush the bloodiest coup attempt yet against President Corazon Aquino. Her only son was wounded. On Saturday morning, 500 rebel troops surrendered at Camp Aguinaldo, the military headquarters that was the scene of the heaviest fighting, themilitary said. On Friday night, it said other 402 rebels had been captured. Gen. Fidel V. Ramos, the military chief of staff, had told his subordinates Friday morning that only about 800 troops had taken part in the mutiny. It was not known how many still might be holding out. Ramos had said "mopping up operations” were under way aiid he expected full order to be restored in Manila by Saturday. ' The uprising centered in Manila but the commander of paramilitary national police in Cebu City, 350 miles southeast, backed the rebels, putting the mayor and provincial governor under house arrest. Military and hospital sources said at least 25 people had been killed and 275 wounded, including Benigno Aquino III. Mrs. Aquino, 54. said her 27:year-oId son was seriously hurt and three companions were killed when gunfire riddled their car near the presidential palace early Friday. The mutiny began at 1 a.m. Friday with attacks on the Malacanang presidential palace compound and other targets. The rebels did not appear to have widespread, popular support. When one group was chased away from the tall transmitter tower of government-run Channel 4 television station, hundreds of people poured into the streets, cheering the loyal defenders and shouting, “Cory! Cory! “ the nickname of the popular president.

Palavras-chave: Estudos Culturais; Relações de Gênero; Cinema ; Terror. Abstract: This article aims at presenting a multi-referential approach - based on Cultural Studies on Horror Films- by discussing gender relations and how these are represented in American and Japanese societies, especially regarding the diverse subtexts underlying two versions of the same film. Keywords: cultural studies, gender relations, cinema, Horror films.

For 53 years, South Carolina Republicans have gathered together each year to forget... celebrate our party’s conservative principles, as well as the donors and activists who help promote those principles in our government. While our Party has enjoyed increasing success in the years since our Elephant Club was formed, we always have to remember that no victories are ever perma- nent. They are dependent on our continuing to be faithful to do the fundamen- tals: communicating a clear conservative message that is relevant to voters, identifying and organizing fellow Republicans, and raising the money to make it all possible. As we gather this evening on the anniversary of the tragic terrorists attacks on our homeland in 2001, we’re reminded about what’s at stake in our elections this year - the protection of our families, our homes, our property, our borders and our fundamental values. This year’s election offers us an incredible opportunity to continue to expand our Party.

My analysis centers on the changing role of libraries and research, and how this affects the ways that monsters are portrayed differently across the time periods represented in these films.

April 15, 2013 The Honorable Dave Camp The Honorable Sander Levin Chairman Ranking Member Ways and Means Committee Ways and Means Committee United States House of Representatives United States House of Representatives 1102 Longworth House Office Building 1102 Longworth House Office Building Washington, D.C. 20515 Washington, D.C. 20515 Dear Chairman Camp and Ranking Member Levin: As members of the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST), we are writing to impress upon you the importance of maintaining the current tax exemption for municipal bond interest. For more than 100 years, tax-exempt bonds have been the primary financing mechanism for essential state and local infrastructure projects. The need to build and maintain our public infrastructure has never been more acute. Three quarters of all public infrastructure projects in the United States are built by the states and local governmental entities. Eliminating or reducing the tax exemption will greatly limit our ability to address these needs, resulting in fewer projects, fewer jobs and deteriorating infrastructure. Tax-exempt municipal bonds are the primary tool that state and local governments use to finance highways, bridges, transit systems, airports, water and wastewater systems, schools, higher education facilities, and many other projects. According to the American Society of Civil Engineers, the nation should spend $2.749 trillion by the year 2020 to meet our currently anticipated critical infrastructure needs.1 Much of the responsibility for addressing these needs rests with states, counties, and cities. Tax-exempt municipal bonds provide a mechanism for bringing private capital to those public projects, while saving an average of 25 to 30 percent on interest costs compared to taxable bonds.
