Having been Head of Energy for Wood Mackenzie Consultants in the mid-1990s he moved to Moscow as Head of Oil & Gas Research for Renaissance Capital in 1997 and in 1999 became Head of Equity Research. He returned to the UK in 2002 and is currently Head of Russia for Lambert Energy Advisory in London as well as a Senior Visiting Research Fellow at OIES. What is the maximum daily gas production rate at the Bovanenkovskoye field at present? What do you expect it to be by the heating season? Are you going to boost it? And how? What is the annual capacity of the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta gas trunkline system? I know its production potential is about 90 billion cubic meters of gas per year, but what transmission capacity does it have? As for TurkStream, what about pipes procured for South Stream? Are you going to use all of them for TurkStream or are there any other options? VITALY MARKELOV: Last year Gazprom’s production potential reached some 1.648 billion cubic meters of gas daily. This year it will be about 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas daily. -

The article explores whether ussia’s interest to further expand in hina’s gas market can materialise and how ussia needs to act in order to attain this goal. Keywords: China, Russia, natural gas, Power of Siberia gas pipeline Introduction The Ukrainian crisis of 2013-2014 revealed the risks of Russia’s overdependence on European energy demand, making clear that export diversification should be Russia’s rational choice allowing it to alleviate its vulnerability vis--vis European markets. Under the new circumstances of the sanctions initiated by the USA and the EU and supported by Japan and some other countries, Russia turned more orientated towards China, and in May 2014 signed what was dubbed a historic gas deal.1 While the scope of Russo-Chinese gas cooperation is not limited to this large-scale contract and while it is still too early to assess the impact of this newly-struck agreement, it seems worthwhile to examine the overall potential for the bilateral gas cooperation. -

The development of Russia's foreign economic potential in the current conditions of globalization is inextricably linked with the assessment of the prospects for implementing the country's transport and infrastructure potential. The importance of transport in the conditions of increasing instability of the world economy is a factor in the sustainability of the national economy. Implementing a cluster approach to the development of an efficient and modern transport and logistics infrastructure will help to accelerate the movement of goods and reduce costs in international trade, as well as the consistent integration of the country's transport system into the global network of international transport corridors. Hence, the Trans-Siberian Railway occupies a leading place in the Russian state policy on the formation of international transport corridors of latitudinal striking. The Trans-Siberian Railway’s ability to provide international transit container transportation as an alternative to the traditional sea route is being considered. In this regard, consideration of the prospects for integrating the projects of international transport corridors with the participation of the Trans-Siberian Railway is most relevant. This article discusses both economic, technological and political factors that influence the potential effectiveness of this project. The prospect for the development and integration of the Trans-Siberian Railway with the Trans-Korean Railway leads to the creation of an effective transport corridor for the foreign trade of the countries of Southeast Asia and Europe, primarily the Republic of Korea with the EU countries, as well as with Russia. -

Iraqi oil to Turkey reached approx. 18 mb in May Anadolu Agency, 03.06.2015 Oil exports from northern Iraq to Turkey’s Ceyhan port reached 17.9 million barrels in May, the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Kurdish Regional Government announced. According to a statement on the ministry’s website, 577,621 barrels of crude oil were exported to Turkey per day during the month of May. “Of that amount 407,111 barrels were supplied from the Kurdish region, while 170,510 barrels of oil came from Kirkuk,” said the statement. It also said the oil exports were conducted under the supervision of SOMO, the State Organization for Marketing of Oil, which is responsible for marketing Iraq’s oil. The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) exported 563,000 barrels of crude oil per day to Turkey’s Ceyhan port or a total for April of 16.9 million barrels of oil. The KRG in Erbil and the central government in Baghdad reached an agreement on Dec. 2 regarding the amount of oil exports and the budget share the KRG would receive from the central government. According to the agreement, the KRG was to export 250,000 barrels of oil per day with the Kirkuk province providing 300,000 barrels per day under the supervision of SOMO. In return, Baghdad was to provide 17 percent of the national budget. There have been numerous disputes between the two sides due to the amount of crude oil being exported and also with the lack of full payments made from the budget.
