Silver for Purvis at Stuttgart World Cup Britain's Daniel Purvis has taken the silver medal at the Stuttgart World Cup (GER), continuing his fantastic form in 2012. From the 30th Nov - 2nd December, Britain's top gymnasts traveled to Stuttgart (GER) for an artistic Team and World Cup event. In the men’s World Cup Dan competed alongside team mate Kristian Thomas and six other top gymnasts from around the world. Both proved that they can mix with the world's best after their historic Olympic team bronze success, with Dan clinching the silver (89.397) behind Germany's Marcel Nguyen (90.232) and in front of Russia’s David Belyavskiy in bronze (89.298), with Kristian Thomas in 7th. The next stop for both Brits will be the season-ending Glasgow World Cup this Saturday. Dan Purvis: “I was very happy with finishing second especially with such high level competitors there. Barcelona was a good indication on how well my fitness was and finishing second there really gave me confidence going into Stuttgart. I’m very excited about Glasgow, it will be my last competition this year and I am hoping to put in a great performance in front of a home crowd and finish this year on a high.” In the women's event, GB was represented by British all-around champion Rebecca Tunney and British floor and vault champion Niamh Rippin. Both girls competed well against strong competition to finish 6th and 8th respectively. In the men's Team Cup, the GB team of Frank Baines, Dan Keatings, Theo Seager and Sam Oldham took the bronze behind Japan and Russia with Dan Keatings finishing 3rd on the Parallel bars. END .
