COMMITTEE PREFERENCES AND AVAILABILITY (please circle below): Please choose three committees in order of preference and at least 3 shifts for each committee. A ‘full day’ shift is considered two shifts. We do our best to assign you to your top choice once we receive your application payment. When you select a committee from the drop-down, the committee’s description and available shifts will display.

Most committees offer morning and afternoon shifts, which allows you to volunteer one or both shifts. Some committees only offer one ‘full day’ shift. Shifts times are generally five to seven hours in length.

You may be assigned to all or some of your shifts, based on the needs of the committee. A volunteer leader will be in touch to confirm your committee assignment. Later in the summer, your committee leader will contact you to confirm your schedule and provide specific shift times. If your availability changes, please let the leader know.

VOLUNTEER PACKAGE: All volunteers must purchase a volunteer package. Your payment helps offsets the cost so that the tournament can continue to benefit local charitable organizations. The volunteer package includes the following:

Men may wear khaki pants or shorts with their uniform. Women may wear khaki pants, skirts, capris or shorts of appropriate length with their uniform.

Volunteers have the option to have their uniform package shipped to them for a $25 shipping and handling fee. Applications received after July 1, 2020 will not have the shipping option and must pick up their uniforms at the scheduled uniform distribution times which are usually the last three weekends leading up to the event. Please note, we do not ship outside of the country or to PO Boxes.

COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS ADMISSIONS/WILL CALL: Committee Minimum Age: 14 Dates of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday (August 12 – August 16)

Volunteers on this committee work to create a premium spectator experience for all. Ticketing and Will Call volunteers will be stationed at the Xfinity Center lot, scanning tickets and greeting guests at one of the main gates. Volunteers will also assist with the operation of the box office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with ticket sales, ticket scanning, ticket redemptions and will call. Great customer service skills are required as committee volunteers are the first people that the guests and sponsors interact with when arriving on-site. Volunteers are encouraged to learn about the tournament, so they are able to answer questions from spectators. This committee works outside all day and must be prepared for all weather conditions. Volunteers must be comfortable with being on their feet most of the day.

AMBASSADORS: Committee Minimum Age: 14 Dates of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday (August 12 – August 16)

Volunteers on this committee work to create a premium spectator experience for all. Spectator experience volunteers will be distributing pairings sheets on course or stationed at one of the Fan Information booths on course. Volunteers are encouraged to learn about the tournament, so they are able to answer questions from spectators, such as directing them to the nearest restroom or informing them where they can find food. This committee works outside all day and must be prepared for all weather conditions. Volunteers must be comfortable with being on their feet most of the day.

CADDIE SUPPORT: Committee Minimum Age: 18 Dates of Operation: Monday – Sunday (August 9 – August 16)

The caddie support committee works directly with the PGA TOUR caddies to ensure that the professional caddies have the best experience on the PGA TOUR. Please note, this committee DOES NOT caddie throughout the tournament but rather oversees the operations of the caddie barn as well as assist with caddie registration and caddie lunches throughout the week. Great customer service skills and a positive attitude are required for this committee.

GOLF CARTS & PLAYER SHUTTLES Committee Minimum Age: 25 Dates of Operation: Sunday – Sunday (August 9 – August 16)

Volunteers on this committee will be assigned to work in the cart barn or assisting with player shuttles throughout the course. Other duties include, but are not limited to, daily cart registration, distribution, return processes and upkeep of the cart yard. This position works outside all day and volunteers must be prepared for all weather conditions. All volunteers must have a valid driver’s license to drive a golf cart.

COURSE PREP: Committee Minimum Age: 16 Dates of Operation: Thursday, August 6-Sunday, August 9 and Monday, August 17 (Dates subject to change) *This committee only operates before and after the tournament week. Volunteers must be willing to work the full shift for each day.

This committee assists with the installation of on-course score boards and signage (both pre and post tournament). Volunteers on this committee must be capable of some moderate to heavy lifting. Participation in this committee allows a volunteer to put their time in before and after the event, so that during the tournament week, they can sit back and enjoy the action. This position works outside all day and volunteers must be prepared for all weather conditions.

HOSPITALITY: Committee Minimum Age: 18 Dates of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday (August 12 – August 16)

The hospitality committee is responsible for greeting and welcoming guests to the hospitality locations on the course. Volunteers on this committee will ensure that all persons entering the hospitality venues have the proper credential and receive the correct wristband. Great customer service skills and a positive attitude are required for this committee. This position works outside all day and volunteers must be prepared for all weather conditions.

KIDS VILLAGE: Hold on posting for now Committee Minimum Age: 14 Dates of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday (August 12 – August 16)

This committee is responsible for overseeing the Kids Village and Kids Zone viewing areas. The Kid Zone areas are special family viewing areas designed to maintain and regulate appropriate spectator etiquette among both parents and children. The Kids Village includes a mini golf course, games and other family friendly activities. In order for children to participate in daily activities, parental supervision is required. This position works outside all day and volunteers must be prepared for all weather conditions.

MARSHALS: Committee Minimum Age: 18 Dates of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday (August 12 – August 16)

Volunteers in this committee enforce crowd control during the tournament, ensuring players safe and easy access from hole to hole and signaling the gallery for quiet as players address the ball for their shot. Hole Marshals are assigned to each of the 18 holes on course and are responsible for spotting balls on the fairway, watching for errant shots and keeping the crowds moving smoothly with play. These positions work outside all day, are on their feet all day and volunteers must be prepared for all weather conditions.

MEDIA CENTER: Committee Minimum Age: 18 Dates of Operation: Monday – Sunday (August 10 – August 16)

The media center is the hub for television, print and radio reporters during the tournament. The media committee works directly with the PGA TOUR communications team to assist in the operation of the media center. Helping to organize interviews with players, working with reporters and being a general help to the many people housed within the media center are just a few of the many responsibilities for this committee.

MOBILE MARSHALS: Committee Minimum Age: 18 Dates of Operation: Thursday – Sunday (August 13 – August 16) *Volunteers must be able to work full day shifts on this committee.

Mobile marshals are assigned to a group of players and accompany them for the entire eighteen holes. Volunteers walk with the players to ensure access to tee boxes, cross walks, and green exits are properly manned by hole marshals and there is nothing that impedes access to these areas. In addition, volunteers clear any necessary area of spectators to ensure the player and ball are protected when a player hits a shot out of bounds. Volunteers may be required to assist with course evacuation, if needed. Volunteers must be able to walk eighteen holes and have prior experience as a mobile marshal, hole marshal or walking scorer. This position works outside all day and volunteers must be prepared for all weather conditions.

ON-COURSE VOLUNTEER SUPPORT: Committee Minimum Age: 25 Dates of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday (August 12 – August 16)

Volunteers for this committee will be assisting the other committees and volunteers during tournament week. This committee’s responsibilities include transporting volunteers to their committee locations by shuttle, delivering snacks and supplies when needed and providing overall support to each committee. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license to drive a golf cart and must be at least 25 years old to transport passengers. Volunteers in this position work outside all day and must be prepared for all weather conditions.

MARSHAL PRACTICE AREAS: Committee Minimum Age: 18 Dates of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday (August 12 – August 16)

Volunteers for this committee will be stationed at the practice facility. As PGA TOUR professionals enter the range, volunteers will be responsible for setting up nameplates that identify each player. Knowledge of the players is helpful, but not necessary. Volunteers will also assist with crowd control and the security team to ensure that all persons entering the practice facility have the proper credentials. This position works outside all day and volunteers must be prepared for all weather conditions.

MARSHAL SCORING AREAS: Committee Minimum Age: 18 Dates of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday (August 12 – August 16)

Scoring Area volunteers are responsible for supporting the PGA TOUR scoring staff in ensuring their area is set up properly. The Scoring Area volunteers put out the starter boxes each morning and will work with the special events committee to help collect scorecards during the pro-am.

Volunteers in this committee enforce crowd control from 18 green to the clubhouse, ensuring players safe and easy access following their round. This position works outside all day and volunteers must be prepared for all weather conditions.

SHIPPING/RECEIVING: Committee Minimum Age: 18 Dates of Operation: Monday-Sunday (August 10 – August 16)

This committee will work with FedEx, UPS and any other carrier service that delivers to the tournament on receiving and shipping packages during tournament. This committee will also assist delivering packages to clients on course on days required and putting out spectator guides/pairing sheets. Volunteers must have the ability to lift a minimum of 5lbs and be on their feet most of the day. The position works outside most of the day and volunteers must be prepared to work in all weather conditions.

SHOTLINK: Committee Minimum Age: 16 Dates of Operation: Thursday – Sunday (August 13 – August 16) *Volunteers must be able to work full day shifts on this committee.

This committee’s responsibility is to measure and record the location and distance of every shot hit during the tournament using a PGA TOUR laser and tracking its coordinates into the ShotLink scoring system. Each position will often be staffed with two volunteers who will work together. Golf knowledge is not required to operate a laser but is helpful. This is a fixed post that requires little to no walking or on-course movement. Volunteers will be trained on one hole and in one position but there may be opportunity to assist in other areas. PGA TOUR staff holds a training orientation for this committee that volunteers are required to attend to learn how to use the equipment correctly. This position works outside all day and must be prepared for all weather conditions. Training is MANDATORY (online and in person) and the use of technology is required in this position.

SPECIAL EVENTS: Hide Committee Minimum Age: 16 Dates of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday (August 12 – August 16)

This committee provides support for all aspects of the tournament’s special events and honorary observer program. For the pro-am, responsibilities, include but are not limited to, assisting with the gifting suite, registering amateurs upon arrival, working with the caddie program and assisting at the pairings party and awards parties, if needed. Volunteers will then oversee the registration, training and execution of the honorary observer program Thursday – Sunday. Volunteers may be asked to assist with smaller events as they arise. This position works outside at times, so volunteers must be prepared for all weather conditions.

SPECTATOR MOVEMENT Committee Minimum Age: 25 Dates of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday (August 12 – August 16)

Volunteers on this committee will assist with crosswalk management to help control and direct all cart and foot traffic. Volunteers will also transport spectators to designated drop off locations and answer their questions about the tournament. This position works outside all day and volunteers must be prepared for all weather conditions. All volunteers must have a valid driver’s license to drive a golf cart and must be at least 25 years old to transport passengers.

SUPPLY DISTRIBUTION Committee Minimum Age: 18 Dates of Operation: Sunday – Sunday (August 9 – August 16)

This committee is responsible for the distribution of water, ice and coke product throughout the course. This committee also works directly with each volunteer group to ensure that they are fully stocked with beverages as well. Volunteers must have the ability to provide moderate to heavy lifting. This position works outside all day and volunteers must be prepared for all weather conditions. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license and at least 18 years old to drive a golf cart.

STANDARD BEARER: Committee Minimum Age: 14 Dates of Operation: Thursday – Sunday (August 13 – August 16)

Standard bearers are tasked with the duty of carrying the sign that shows the gallery what players are in the group and displays their current scores. A basic understanding of golf scoring and golf etiquette is required, though it can be learned from the walking scorer. Training in required for new volunteers on this committee. Volunteers must be able to walk 18 holes carrying a 5 lbs. sign in various weather conditions.

TRANSPORTATION: Committee Minimum Age: 25 Dates of Operation: Pre-Tournament Saturday – Post-Tournament Monday (August 8 – August 17)

Transportation committee members are responsible for the pickup and drop off of players and their families throughout the course of the week. Committee members receive, inventory and control the issuance of tournament courtesy cars. Volunteers on this committee will meet players, officials and designated guests at the airport and assist them with their transportation needs. Must be over 25 years of age and have a valid driver's license. The largest need in this committee falls at the beginning and end of tournament week.

UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION: Committee Minimum Age: 16 Dates of Operation: Pre-Tournament *This committee only operates before the tournament. The exact dates, times and locations will be determined at a later date.

These committee volunteers assist with the inventory and distribution of volunteer uniforms prior to the tournament. Uniform distribution volunteers will work the three weekends leading up to the tournament, helping to distribute every volunteer’s uniform package. In addition, volunteers will assist the tournament team with the packaging and shipping of select volunteer packages. Volunteers in this committee will not be required to work during the tournament.

VOLUNTEER HEADQUARTERS: Committee Minimum Age: 16 Dates of Operation: Monday – Sunday (August 10 – August 16)

The volunteer headquarters committee assists in servicing the volunteers during tournament week in the volunteer tent. Responsibilities include fielding volunteer phone calls, answering volunteer questions, directing volunteers to their committee check-in locations, re-stocking snacks and beverages and assisting the tournament in creating an overall excellent volunteer experience. This position is one that can be very busy and quiet at times throughout the tournament week.

WALKING SCORER: Committee Minimum Age: 18 Dates of Operation: Wednesday – Sunday (August 12 – August 16) *Volunteers must be able to work full day shifts on this committee. All volunteers must work the pro-am day on Wednesday, August 12.

The walking scorer is responsible for keeping on-course statistics and scores using a handheld computer device and a voice radio with headset. A good understanding of the rules of golf and golf etiquette are required. You must have the ability to walk 18 holes in all weather conditions while maintaining responsibility for your equipment. The PGA TOUR staff holds a training orientation for this committee that volunteers are required to attend to learn how to become a walking scorer. You must have prior experience as a walking scorer to be on this committee. Training is MANDATORY (online and in person) and the use of technology is required in this position.

VOLUNTEER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Age: Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age by August 9, 2020 to be considered for a volunteer position at the tournament. Some positions require 18 and 25 years of age.

Transportation/ Accommodation: Volunteers involved in the tournament understand that transportation and accommodation will not be provided by the tournament.

Shift Hours: Volunteer duties are applicable before, during and after the tournament. Volunteers will be notified of the shifts (service hours) that will be required to be completed. Volunteers will also be notified to whom they should report (committee chairmen or captain). Volunteers may be required to attend scheduled trainings and briefings and will be informed of the location and time of any training(s) and briefing(s) well in advance. If, for any reason, a volunteer is late or anticipates missing an assigned shift, it is imperative that the volunteer contact the committee chairman immediately. Volunteers should obtain a contact number from his or her assigned committee chairman or captain. Volunteers are responsible for being at their assigned location at their scheduled times.

Note: Should a volunteer be unable to fulfill their obligations and work their assigned shift(s) due to unforeseen circumstances, the volunteer must notify their committee chairman on or before July 10, 2020 to request a refund and return their volunteer uniform, badge, parking pass and guest tickets if received already. Refunds will not be issued after July 10.

Dress Code: Volunteers receive a uniform (consisting of a volunteer shirt and headwear) and a volunteer credential, which are to be worn at all times during the volunteer’s shift. The uniform and credential are NOT transferable and, if lost, will not be replaced. Volunteers are responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness and laundry of the volunteer clothing. Khaki colored bottoms are required to be worn while on duty. Short shorts, sandals and traditional spikes are not permitted.

Safety: The tournament takes pride in observing high standards of safety and endeavors to provide volunteers with the safest conditions possible. As a member of the volunteer team, volunteers must comply with all safety requirements associated with the volunteer position and support related policies and procedures. Volunteers should follow the committee chairman’s or captain’s instructions with respect to safety at all times. Volunteers should communicate any and all problems, conflicts or suggestions (safety or otherwise) to their committee chairman or captain.

Golf Cart Acknowledgement: Golf carts are specifically used for the transportation of persons but are used for utility purposes as well. They are of significant value to the tournament for efficiency and economic transportation. Recognizing that golf carts are moving vehicles, the PGA TOUR, Inc. (“TOUR”) has established safety rules and procedures for the safe operation of these vehicles. Golf cart operation will be governed by such rules specified by TOUR. Volunteers must be 18 years old to operate a golf cart transporting supplies and 25 years old to transport passengers. Volunteers using a golf cart will be required to sign a separate Golf Cart Safety Training Acknowledgement and Liability Release prior to operating a golf cart.

Inclement Weather: In case of inclement weather, volunteers should check with their committee chair or captain for instructions in advance of their shift. If inclement weather occurs during the course of the volunteer’s shift, the volunteer should follow the tournament’s safety procedures.

Eligibility: Volunteers are subject to verification of eligibility by background and/or reference checks at the option of TOUR. Any volunteer will no longer be eligible to volunteer in the future or may be dismissed during tournament week for (but not limited to) the following:

➢ Consumption/being under the influence of alcohol or drugs while on duty ➢ Theft ➢ Insubordination, abuse or mistreatment of players, fans, tournament staff, visitors, guests or other volunteers ➢ Failure to abide by tournament policies and procedures ➢ Failure to complete shift(s) as directed by the committee chairman or captain ➢ Allowing another person to use the volunteer credential ➢ Seeking autographs outside of the designated autograph area ➢ Entering restricted areas without proper credentials ➢ Cancelling without returning items ordered/purchased as part of the volunteer program ➢ Not being punctual and/or leaving the assigned post unattended

Dismissal will not entitle any volunteer to a refund of any payment for the volunteer package. TOUR reserves the right to accept or reject volunteers in its sole discretion.

Use of Trademarks: Volunteers may not use the tournament name or logo, website content, written agreement or any material or publication that carry the tournament marks in any way without the written permission of TOUR.

Volunteer Credential Terms: Each volunteer grants permission to TOUR to utilize his or her image or likeness incidental to any live or recorded television or other transmission or reproduction in whole or in part of the tournament. Volunteers agree not to transmit or facilitate transmission of any account, description, picture, or reproduction of the tournament, including, without limitation, scoring-related data, without the specific advance written permission of TOUR. Soliciting autographs from tournament players with intent to sell is prohibited. Volunteers agree not to seek autographs

For security purposes, no bags larger than six inches will be permitted onto the golf course, including purses, backpacks, chair bags, and camera cases. Volunteers hereby consent to the reasonable inspection of their person and property before entering the tournament, which inspection may include, without limitation, metal detection. No food, coolers, ladders, signs, banners, radios, televisions, firearms, explosive devices, etc. will be permitted on the grounds. All mobile phones, PDA’s and pagers must be on silent or vibrate and must be used in accordance with the posted Mobile Device Policy. No cameras or camcorders are allowed during tournament rounds. No alcoholic beverages may be brought onto or taken from the grounds of the tournament. Volunteers agree to abide by all rules and regulations established by the TOUR and the tournament, and a violation of such rules and regulations, including failure to appear for a scheduled volunteer shift, can be a cause for termination of the license granted herein, forfeiture of the volunteer credential and removal from the tournament. The volunteer credential cannot be used in a promotion or offered as a prize without permission from TOUR. Resale of the volunteer credential is not permitted. It is unlawful to reproduce the volunteer credential. TOUR reserves the right to revoke any volunteer credential and cancel all privileges connected therein.

Integrity Program: The PGA TOUR Integrity Program is intended to maintain integrity and prevent betting-related corruption in PGA TOUR competitions. Each volunteer is subject to the terms of the PGA TOUR Integrity Program Manual (the “Integrity Program Manual”). The Integrity Program Manual, among other things: prohibits volunteers from betting on the Tournament and providing inside information to third parties for purposes of betting on the Tournament; and requires volunteers to report any violations of the Integrity Program Manual to the TOUR. A violation of the Integrity Program may result in dismissal from volunteering for the Tournament, among other consequences.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

In connection with my activities or the activities of the underage participant (“Minor”) listed herein (for whom I am the legal guardian) as a volunteer at the 2020 THE NORTHERN TRUST to be held at TPC Boston in Norton, MA, I agree and understand that the presence of me or the Minor at the Tournament and any volunteer work or services performed by me or the Minor for the Tournament, TOUR, THE NORTHERN TRUST, TPC Boston, Northern Trust Corp., their affiliates and subsidiaries and their respective officers, directors, agents, members, employees and officials, as well as any other volunteer (collectively referred to as “the Indemnified Parties”) may expose me or the Minor to both unknown and unanticipated risks of harm or injury. In consideration of and as a prerequisite to the participation of me or the Minor as a volunteer, I, for myself and the Minor, acknowledge that such risks exist, assume all such risks, and release and discharge the Indemnified Parties from any and all claims for liability for personal injury (including death) or property damage that I or the Minor may suffer while performing such volunteer work or service, whether or not on the premises of TPC Boston, including, without limitation, any claim arising out of any condition of the premises used by TOUR for the Tournament or the conduct or any person in connection with the preparation for, supervision of, or conduct of the Tournament or any practice round or activity connected or related to it. I accept full responsibility for the costs of treatment for any injury or damages suffered by me or the Minor while participating as a volunteer in connection with the Tournament. I have fully informed myself of the contents of this Release by reading it before signing it and agree to be bound by the terms set forth herein in consideration for performing volunteer services.
