2014 NTO Fact Sheet 2014 Fact Sheet EVENT: Northern Trust Open What started as the Los Angeles Open in 1926 at Los Angeles Country Club, the Northern Trust Open is now one of the longest-running tournaments on the PGA TOUR. It was staged at various courses throughout the Los Angeles area before permanently settling at Riviera Country Club in 1973. Outside of the major championships, the Northern Trust Open is the fourth-oldest event on TOUR, trailing only the BMW Championship, the RBC Canadian Open and the Valero Texas Open. DATE: February 12-16, 2014 SITE: Riviera Country Club Pacific Palisades, CA PAR/YARDAGE: Par: 35-36=71/7,349 yards ARCHITECHT/OPENED: George C. Thomas, Jr. & William P. The 2012 Northern Trust Open raised $1.7 million for non-profit organizations in the Los Angeles area, bringing the total generated for Los Angeles charities since the event’s inception to $55.2 million. In July 2012, City of Hope, a leading research, treatment and education center for cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases, was named Official Charity of the Northern Trust Open. As the official charity, City of Hope utilizes the event as a platform to educate the nation about its work and benefits from the considerable charitable dollars generated each year from tournament proceeds. In turn, City of Hope works alongside the Northern Trust Open to generate exposure, sales, promotion and growth of the event. Although City of Hope is the primary beneficiary of the Northern Trust Open, the long-term charitable strategy of the event includes three additional avenues for local organizations to receive funding: The LA Legends Club (which award grants to deserving charities of their choice each year); Community Charities (TICKETS Fore CHARITY™ participants, as well as the Birdies for the Brave® Patriots’ Outpost and The First Tee); and Operational Charities (those that assist with the operations of the tournament and receive charitable contributions for facility use and staffing).     2017 KITCHENAID SENIOR PGA CHAMPIONSHIP MEDIA INFORMATION ➢ The 78th KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship will be played in the Washington, DC area for the first time when it visits the Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, VA. Designed by Tom Fazio in 1991 and redesigned again in 2014, the Championship Course boasts views of the nearby Potomac River on 13 of 18 holes. The course will play at par-72, 7,130 yards for the championship. Two of the courses signature holes are No. 13, a 544-yard, par-5 and No. 15, a 175-yard par-3. ➢ This year’s KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship will be the second of five major championships on PGA TOUR Champions in 2017. The Regions Tradition kicked things off last week at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham with Bernhard Langer defending his 2016 title. The final three major champions will get under way starting in five weeks at the U.S. Senior Open at Salem Country Club in Peabody, MA where Gene Sauers will defend (June 29- July 3). After a one-week break, the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship will take place at Caves Valley Golf Club in suburban Baltimore (July 10-16).
