Sat 22 Feb | 7:30pm An Evening With Billy Pearce Billy visits the Phoenix for the first time with his must see hilarious adult show.

National treasure, and without doubt one of Britain’s most talented and best loved & performers, Billy Pearce emerged from the fertile talent fields of Butlins in the mid 1980’s. Multi Award winner Billy, has won just about every comedy award going, including a British comedy award, Solo comedian of the year, and Best television comedy newcomer at the London Palladium.

There are few stages upon which Billy has not appeared. He’s broken Box Office records at a number of National Theatres including his Summer season at the Blackpool Grand Theatre, and his Christmas panto appearance at the Bradford Alhambra, where the Theatre took a bank busting £1.3 Million.

Billy even trod the boards of Musical Theatre appearing alongside Jimmy Osmond in the smash hit musical ‘Boogie Nights’. He followed this by having a stint as narrator in the ‘Rocky Horror Show’. A fine actor, Billy has also appeared on numerous shows, including ITV’s ‘Heartbeat’ and the award winning BBC drama ‘The Street’. MeatLoud was founded in 2015 by classically trained vocalist Andy Plimmer, already a solo MeatLoaf tribute for 5 years. He put together a band of fantastic musicians with backgrounds ranging from classical and musical theatre to rock and blues. MeatLoud cover songs from a range of MeatLoaf’s albums from Bat out of Hell in (1977) to Bat out of Hell III (2005).

MeatLoud are the most authentic tribute to basing itself around the “Piano” as was originally intended by Jim Steinman when he composed Bat Out of Hell Album, released 22nd October 1977. Piano is expertly played by Henry Salmon supported by James Norman on “Orchestral Keyboards” Special attention is paid to the vocal offering to the listener. As well as the lead “MeatLoaf” familiar vocal lines we have in Sally Rivers, one of the country’s top session singers and vocal coaches. Sally Rivers has worked with artists such as Cher, Annie Lennox, Lady Ga Ga, Simply Red, Rolling Stones, Robert Palmer, plus many more. Sally brings so much experience and quality to Meat Loud. Look out for Sally’s awesome rendition of Total Eclipse of the Heart which of course was written by Jim Steinman The workhorse of is provided by Rob (Undertaker) Norman – Bass Guitar, Marc (Snake) Wallett – Drums and Jonathan (Geetar) Walters with his screaming guitar licks. Beatlemania are regarded as one of the UK leading tribute acts, playing to ecstatic sell-out audiences throughout the world and regularly appearing on television and radio.

The show begins in the early years (1962-65). ‘’, ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’, ‘ A Hard Days Night’, and ‘Help!’. Then it’s on to the progressive period of the Beatles Career (‘65- ’67), which includes songs such as ‘Paperback Writer’ and ‘Eleanor Rigby’.

After another costume change the psychedelic section begins with ‘Sgt. Peppers’, ‘Penny Lane’ and ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ amongst others. Songs from The White Album, together with the later classic singles, ‘Lady Madonna’, ‘’ and ‘Get Back’ take the show to it’s end.

A Salute to the 1940s is a fantastic traditional variety show packed with tributes to the stars of the ’40s.

As soon as the audience walks into the room they are transported back in time to the 1940s with flags, posters, bunting and webbing.

The show has everything that any fan of the 1940s could wish for. Acts included in the show

Vera Lynn, George Formby, Gracie Fields, Andrews Sisters and Frank Sinatra all held together by Warden Braithwaite, the shows very own compere/warden.

Our volunteer helpers are essential at our events. They welcome patrons, promote the theatre, check tickets, look after the audience during shows and much more.

Volunteers receive exclusive discounts on tickets, are invited to staff training sessions and events and also help organise fundraising activities.
