GCCF MANX OUTCROSS TO BSH POLICY CHART

The GCCF Breeding Policy for the Manx states at page 13:- “Manx means a particular head and body type, coat quality and eye colour, and most importantly, "Manx" ancestry.” ------Note: Indigenous Manx/Cymric are a naturally occurring, healthy, viable, old breed and historically colours/patterns evidencing hybridization through the colour-pointed (Himalayan/Siamese colour restriction), chocolate or cinnamon and their dilute derivatives lilac or fawn, are not part of the breed. Manx are one of the Original Pedigree cat breeds.

CHART SHOWING HOW A PEDIGREE , OR INDIGENOUS MANX CAT DEGENERATES INTO A CAT WHICH IS CONSIDERED TO BE MERELY A TAILLESS/PART TAILED CAT WHERE OUTCROSS AND CONTINUING OUTCROSS OCCURS. THE SITUATION IS WORSE WHERE THE CAT IS A MANX CROSS TO START WITH, OR DOES NOT HAVE ANCESTRY TO THE Pedigree Manx with IOM ancestry and no outcross X Domestic or BSH = ½ Manx

½ Manx X Domestic or BSH = ¼ Manx

¼ Manx X Domestic or BSH = 1/8 Manx

1/8 Manx X Domestic or BSH = 1/16 Manx

1/16 Manx X Domestic or BSH = 1/32 Manx

Examples Mix alters when a 1/16 Manx is mated with a ½ Manx Mix alters when a ½ Manx is mated with a ½ Manx Mix alters when a 1/32 Manx is mated with a 1/32 Manx

Far different mix when the original breeding cat is a Manx outcross, or undocumented Found Tailless cat which has some type of causing it to be Tailless/Part Tailed.

Each outcross from pedigree Manx with IOM ancestry degrades Type. Each domestic used brings in unknowns and BSH are not free of issues.
