K10 Freight Railroads: Integral to Trade, Logistics, and Infrastructure Nevada’s rail network spans 1,193 miles – the strength of our rail network is a huge asset in an increasingly global economy According to Business Roundtable™, international trade, including exports and imports, supports approximately 367,800 Nevada jobs Rail is the most efficient way of transporting freight over land – ability to move a ton of cargo about 479 miles on a single gallon of fuel (environment‐friendly) Industry has spent over $630 Billion in private capital on the national network, from 1980‐2017, improving safety and efficiency (40% of revenues) Utilizes technology daily to improve safety and efficiency (Lasers, Sensors, Sonar, Big Data, etc.) Private rail companies pay their own Fernley well‐positioned to become a multi‐model transportation center – within the ideal 1‐day truck way with little help from taxpayers transit range to the West Coast & 60,000,000 customers

K18 Economic Development…NNDA Style

NNDA’s values, vision and mission are reflected in its approach to Economic Development.

We measure our success less by the number of jobs, and more by how we are lifting up families.

For NNDA, Economic Development is not about “what is in it for me.” Rather, it is about the future of our children and our children’s children. It is about the future of our communities and Nevada’s Sierra Region!
