Release is dusted over the surface of freshly colored concrete flatwork before using a pattern-stamping tool. The release agent prevents the tool from sticking to newly colored, freshly stamped concrete. As the tool is pulled from the concrete the colored release powder is layered into the textured surfaces of the concrete. Upon washing and sealing, the difference in color between the underlying concrete and the release creates a visually attractive, antiqued look to the concrete. Concrete Stains are a penetrating, reactive stain that chemically combines with cured concrete to produce permanent variegated coloring effects. Because there are so many variables involved in the chemical reaction process Perma-Cast® Sierra Stain produces unique results. Wide color variations, mottling, and unevenness of the color are normal and usually desired. If these coloring effects are not desired, Sierra Stain should not be used. Stains are only available as a case of 4-1 gallon (3.8 L) bottles. No broken cases will be processed. Coverage is approximately 300 sq. ft. per gallon. Stains ship LTL.
