Days 1. Feb 6 is observed as International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation, with 2020 Theme Unleashing Youth Power. It was first introduced in 2003. 2. Jan 24 is observed as National Girl Child Day in , initiated in 2008. Gender Advancement for Transforming Institutions (GATI) will develop a framework for assessing Gender Equality in STEM. Dr Niti Kumar, Senior Scientist at CSIR-CDRI Lucknow was conferred SERB Women Excellence Award 2020 on National Science Day. It is given to women scientist below 40 years of age who have received recognition from national academies. It comprises research grant of 5 lakhs per annum for 3 years. 69. Feb 29 is Birth Anniversary of Morarji Desai, Former (4th) Prime Minister of India (1977 and 1979). It is notable as Mr. Desai was born on Feb 29 (leap day). Govt also announced winners of Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar 2020 - Disaster Mitigation & Management Centre, Uttarakhand (in institution category) and Kumar Munnan Singh (Individual category) have been selected for for their commendable work in Disaster Management. Winner institution receives cash prize of 51 lakhs and Winner individual receives cash prize of 5 lakhs. In 2019, 8th Battalion of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Ghaziabad was selected for the award. 75.
