A Future Where No Child Suffers

Empowered A culture of Care for all communities discovery

“Thank you for being encouraging and telling me I am brave. Thank you because you are the first one.”

– 4th grader in the Child Mind Institute Student Success Program Child Mind Institute 2017 Annual Report

A Message from the Child Mind Institute

To achieve our vision of a future where no child suffers with a mental health or learning disorder, we have to provide top-notch, evidence-based clinical care and push the boundaries of scientific research, breaking down the walls that keep more children from getting help. That’s why we are making collaboration, capacity-building and the scalability of our work central to our mission and our identity as an organization.

We build community, share resources and educate to eradicate stigma.

Working with teachers, school administrators, mental health professionals, pediatricians, legislators and business leaders, we provide authoritative tools and information wherever it’s needed — around the corner and around the world.

Our scientific data is openly shared and freely available, along with the resources necessary to analyze it. By training engineers and data scientists from around the globe on how to use our tools and our data to make discoveries, we enable our colleagues to join us as we use open science to uncover the roots of mental health disorders.

We make care available to all by training parents to help their kids, and training teachers to help their students. At our headquarters, the next generation of clinical psychologists is learning to take our standard of care and make it standard everywhere. And 21st century connectivity allows us to bring clinical care anywhere — so no child struggles alone.

Our model approach is transforming the way we talk about, care for and understand children’s mental health and learning disorders. Our vision is bold: open science, accessible care, and a future free of stigma. We hope the world will join us and support our vital mission until our vision for a future where no child suffers is reality.
