We are a group of people who share their enthusiasm for the Ravenloft setting and desire to spread the mists so that more victi... people know about our favorite setting of dread. We are all creating Ravenloft material that is true to the origins of Ravenloft under the umbrella of Mistfactor Press, for the DMs Guild.

What is this? If you are reading these lines then it’s already too late! The bad smell of decay penetrates your nostrils as you perceive impaled corpses of poor men! This is Falkovnia, the Raven- loft domain ruled by the King-Führer Vlad Drakov! This supplement is just a sample of the upcoming “Book of Darklords & Domains”. You get an idea of what to expect in that book by reading the next pages.

What is the “Book of Darklords & Domains”?

A huge project of dread! That’s the best description I can give in a single sentence. If you want to know what it really is though, let it be known that this project aims to translate all 100+ Darklords and their Domains (including former ones) to 5th Edition. All statblocks are made with the lore and deadliness that each is portrayed in older version books and novels! Unique B/W artwork, new spells, new items, maps, important NPCs and mon- sters will also be included. For the people that wish to dig deeper, our references and links for the original books and areas of research are given as well. What’s the next step? If you are still reading, I can only guess that you are really interested! Our plan is to post a single Darklord supplement like Vlad Drakov, every Monday until the big release of the “Book of Darklords & Domains”! If you wish to learn more of our progress or even partici- pate in conversations regarding the work, look for us on Facebook at the Mists of Ravenloft Group! There, you can give us your feedback or even request stuff that you would like to see included in the final version of the project!

But they’re so indoctrinated into a cult of hatred, that they hate and fear foreigners, outsid- ers, and those of other races, seeing themselves as inherently superior, despite their harsh lot in life. This should be evident in all interactions with the natives of Falkovnia. Furthermore, the heroes should constantly be reminded of the Hawk’s cruelty and find that all lawbreakers are punished harshly, with even relative- ly minor infractions being punished with impalement. The populace is poor, overworked, and underfed, in spite of the fertility of the land around them. Only the barest minimum of food is distributed to the locals, while everything else is exported to the domains around Falkovnia, in return for the coin that the King- Führer requires to keep his war machines running.
