In the 1930’s the Great Depression cast a bleak shadow around the world. During that time, “Little Orphan Annie” arose as a red-headed beacon of hope and a symbol of courage in the face of adversity. Today, we are yet again faced with another unprecedented time in history. This time around, it is these young performers providing us with a spark of joy and and a shining light at the end of the tunnel. They have overcome many unique hurdles in just 10 days to put on a historic pandemic performance. Their talent and perseverance is truly an inspiration. Many thanks to Kristi Demers-Crowell and the other members of the SPCT board for providing this unique opportunity, the apprentices, whose backstage talents helped bring this show to life, Dawne Eubanks, an invaluable partner throughout this production, and of course, Kevin Crowell, without whose non-stop hard work none of this would have been possible. So stick out your chin and bet your bottom dollar, because the sun will be out . -Melissa Dunn, Director SYNOPSIS

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. ANNIE JR is presented through special arrangment with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.MTIShows.com
