This global partnership between Indonesia and Germany is a clear testimony of high level of trust, confidence, reliability, and ambitions in the bilateral relation. My coordinating ministry will guarantee an efficient and result-oriented management of the Green Infrastructure Initiative, both in relation to the coordination between national institutions as well as in relation to the involved provinces, regencies, and cities. I will be teaming up with my colleague Bappenas-Minister Suharso, to ensure a very strong cooperation from the Indonesian side in all steps of the way. In my function as Coordinating Minister I can confirm that this Initiative will achieve its goals: improved environment, reduced emissions, and better services. In sum, it will be an excellent investment for the German government in our bilateral partnership.

We need to explore the potential and facilitate modalities of projects other than G2G scheme. The Steering Committee is an appropriate forum to encourage and prompt such initiative. We are convinced that the strategic partnership of the Green Infrastructure Initiative can be a model of efficient and effective collaboration between all stakeholders for sustainable and climate-friendly development including smart combination of technical and financial cooperation between Indonesia and Germany.

The three sectors of the Initiative, namely water and wastewater management, solid waste management, and urban transport, are exactly what West Java needs, especially in expanding metropolitan areas such as Bandung, Cirebon, and Bogor.
