Events for the Year of St. Joseph

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the proclamation of Saint Joseph as the Patron of the Universal Church, Pope Francis has proclaimed December 8, 2020 through December 8, 2021 as the Holy Year of Saint Joseph . Information on events, prayers and more can be found at: http://archphila.org/joseph/

Archdiocesan Novena to Saint Joseph The Archdiocesan Novena to Saint Joseph is one of our Archdiocesan observances for the Year of Saint Jo- seph. It begins on March 19, the Solemnity of Saint Joseph. The Novena can be prayed in any setting, espe- cially before or after Holy Mass but not as a part of the Mass, at parish meetings, in the classroom and in the family home. The praying of this Novena is to unite everyone in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on the 19th of each month, from March through November 2021, in single peti- tion of confident prayer to the Lord through the heavenly intercession of Saint Joseph. Please keep in mind the monthly Archdiocesan intention. August 19 Novena Intentions: For all those afflicted with disease, addiction and sickness of any kind The Archdiocesan Novena to Saint Joseph can be found online at: http://archphila.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Novena-to-St.-Joseph.pdf

Prayer to Saint Joseph Saint Joseph, man of prayer, help us to stand with you before God, humble, attentive, faith-filled, awaiting the loving mercy of His Providence. Teach us to pray, as you did, with the inner simplicity and trust of si- lent prayer and the purity and strength of worship in union with our brothers and sisters. The whole world is your child, Joseph. Be protector and advocate for the searching and the sorrowing, the struggling and the straying, for all of us who long for peace and the fullness of life. Take our lives, our times, our needs into your fatherly care so that we may follow Christ Jesus down pathways of holiness and wholeness. Enfold us and those we love in your prayer, O father Joseph. Obtain for us the daily bread of grace we need for this life, so that we may come at last in your company to the eternal joys of Heaven. Amen Save The Date!
