With that quality outing, Moyers posted his 11th quality June 29 Charleston 6:05 p.m. start of the year, the most among West Virginia’s pitching staff. The last Power pitcher to have more than 11 quality June 30 Charleston 2:05 p.m. starts in a season was Dario Agrazal, who notched 12 in 2016, the most by any West Virginia hurler in team history (2005-present). In his last six starts, the left-hander has given up 10 earned runs over 39.2 innings of work, good for 2018 Results: a 2.27 ERA, with 36 strikeouts. The University of Rhode Island product has hurled at least six innings in 12 of his 15 Kannapolis 7-1 starts this season, and has only ceded more than three runs in four of them. Moyers leads the South Atlantic League in innings pitched (91.2) and strikeouts (95). All-Time SAL Series: STREAK SNAPPED: Prior to West Virginia’s win last night, the Intimidators had taken 10 straight from the Power, Kannapolis leads 74-73 including back-to-back sweeps July 25-26, 2018, in Kannapolis and May 11-13 in Charleston. West Virginia has not claimed a season series against Kannapolis since 2016, when the Power went 5-2 against their Northern Division foe. BY THE SLIMMEST OF MARGINS: With their 4-3 win Thursday over Kannapolis, West Virginia snagged its 18th one-run victory of the season, improving their overall record in one-run contests to 18-9. The Power’s .667 winning percentage is second-best in the South Atlantic League, only behind Delmarva (.692), while their 27 one-run games played are fifth-most on the circuit (Lakewood, 35).
