Because of this, the last major development of Ellis' Stormwatch run now occurs "off-camera." There is no clear listing on the product page of what this hardcover includes, but DC's recent release plans for Stormwatch and Authority hardcovers implied that the books would completely replace the old Warren Ellis / Mark Millar paperback collections. Presumably some problem with licensing the Aliens from Fox for the reprint caused this, but since this issue was resolved before in the paperback collection, I don't see why an agreement couldn't be made. It's puzzling that DC published the book like this.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. good story....something's missingBy Frank L. Greenagel IIThis trade is better than vol. 1 (which is good). The quality of the writing, art, binding and pages make it well worth the purchase price. The story wraps up the end of Stormwatch and prepares the reader for The Authority, which is a fantastic series.There is a crossover that is missing here and should be in the trade. The story is still good without it, but it really ends much too quickly (but then, I was reading this as an Authority prequel, rather than as a set of independent stories).Apollo and Midnighter are introduced in this collection. The writing and art work in harmony in their scenes.Warren Ellis has improved his writing since the first volume of this series, and he experiments with the limits and gray areas of power. "And then everyone died."Apparently there are some critical issues that were omitted there. Disappointing. Warren Ellis concludes his run on Stormwatch, redefining the team and introducing new members, including the powerhouse Apollo and brutal Midnighter. But when disaster strikes in the form of aliens creatures, can the team survive? Plus, Warren Ellis introduces the concept of The Bleed, the fabric between realities that becomes a major aspect of the Wildstorm and DC Universe!This volume collects Stormwatch Vol. 1 #48-50 and Stormwatch Vol. 2 #1- 11.From the Hardcover edition. I will be returning this copy so that bored Amazon staff can continue their game of five-a-side football with it. Disappointed. Absolutely phenomenal. An underrated piece of work by Ellis. .
