Slovenia is a strategic location for business opportunities in Western Balkans and its traditional trade with Europe is expanded by trading links with other continents. The country’s central position is highly important to investors wishing to locate close to customers concentrated in Europe. Advanced transport and communications networks provide Slovenia-based companies with an edge in serving the markets quickly and effectively. Slovenia is confident of its international competitiveness despite the economic slowdown after a sustained period of steady economic growth, attributable largely to a highly educated and competitive workforce. Its people have always demonstrated innovative approach to problems and the ability to think outside the box. Slovenia’s culture of innovation coupled with the readiness to embrace new ideas, has earned it a reputation as a productive, dynamic and forward-thinking investment destination. Slovenia is well placed to capitalize on growth in the countries in its vicinity and their membership of the EU in the near future. It already has traditionally strong trade links with them meaning that Slovenia’s geographic location now represents a significant asset. Slovenia has one of the most transparent and efficient regulatory environments in the world. Through proactive reforms, the Slovenian Government has shown a strong commitment to providing businesses with the right conditions for growth and investment. The laws effective in 2013 put in place structural reforms designed to result in strong productivity and enabling businesses to be more responsive to economic conditions. Government efforts for the development of a better tax system, labour market flexibility, industry deregulation, elimination of the last administrative barriers and the new pension system clearly demonstrate that Slovenia is investor-ready. How Slovenia beneficial to Gujarat (India) for their business relationship: During the high-powered visit of prime minister of Slovenia is seeking to double the volume of trade with India. Since 2009, there has been a sharp rise in bilateral trade, with a rise of 50 per cent in each direction. In 2010 the countries did two-way trade worth $302 million. Slovenia is also hoping that the upcoming Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the EU will provide the necessary fillip. Such agreement helpful to Gujarat by exporting home made goods of Gujarat to the Slovenia and no difficulty arise during trade between Gujarat and Slovenia. “We support the FTA and feel it will be beneficial for us,” said Mr. Pahor (Prime Minister of Slovenia) to a group of Indian journalists invited to Slovenia ahead of his visit here. To deepen the economic engagement the two countries have worked out a double taxation avoidance agreement. So Gujarat has free from double taxation for buying and selling goods with Slovenia. There is also potential for an understanding between Gujarat (India) logistics companies and ports and Slovenia's Luka Koper (Port of Koper) to increase usage of its cargo-related facilities. Luka Koper boasts of its geo-strategic location at the head of the Adriatic Sea, and as the northern most reach of the Mediterranean. From the Ecological Point of view we had seen that hear if any india company want to do the business like any company of agriculture, pharmaceutical etc. Because of the environment of slovnia is good for that so that their business is possible. There are many opportunities available for India in many industries to do business with them, which is discussed in detail in respective part of that industry analysis. A member of the European Union since 2004, Slovenia is today a stable, vibrant democracy that offers a stimulating and low-risk business environment and represents a bridge between Balkan, Central European and Western European countries, all of which it is connected to by historical and cultural ties. Half the size of Switzerland and with two million inhabitants, Slovenia is situated at the crossroads of Central Europe, between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, bordering Austria, Italy, Hungary and Croatia. The majority, almost 85%, of the country’s population is Slovenian; two minorities, Hungarians and Italians, have the status of indigenous minorities under the Slovenian Constitution. Slovenians are predominantly Roman Catholic, although the country also has a small number of Protestants, Orthodox Christians, Muslims and Jews. Slovenian is a Slavic language, similar to Croatian, Serbian, Slovak and Czech. Slovenia’s roots of democracy extend deep into history when Slovenians practiced the unique custom of electing
