July 22. – 28. 2012 in Ollerup Efterskole Fyn Denmark The master classes are for young pianists age 14 - 24 years, who want to work seriously with the piano, to improve their skills and to get inspiration from the three international professors and famous pianists: EUGEN INDJIC, Schola Cantorum, Paris MURRAY MCLACHLAN, Royal Northern College of Music Manchester JACOB LEUSCHNER, Staatliche Musikhochschule Köln The performing participants will have individual lessons in open class, opportunity to listen to other lessons, time for practising, ensemle playing, concerts as well as a musical and friendly getting together in this beautiful place in Denmark. Non-performing participants of all ages, music lovers, teachers, students can attend the classes as well as concerts and all other arrangements including taking part in 4-8 hand piano, musical understanding, lectures and dancing. Ollerup is beautifully situated about 2½ hour from Copenhagen. The school has a nice concert hall, well equipped class-rooms and rooms for practising. All bedrooms have a private bath, and the kitchen is first class!. The non-performing participants can listen to all master classes, and all participants, performing and non-performing, will be able to take part in classes with easy ensemble playing for 4 and 8 hand piano as well as classes in musical understanding and other lectures. During the week there will be three concerts with the three guest professors and some of the students. Artistic leader of the master classes: pianist Elsebeth Brodersen EPTA Danmark is the Danish section of European Piano Teachers Association – an international society of pianists, piano teachers , students and music lovers. The goal is to strengthen the interest for the piano and for piano music and to help raising the level of piano education. EPTA arranges workshops and pedagogical seminars, piano courses for teachers and children, master classes for pianists and concerts. EPTA is offering a system of graded exams for piano students on all levels and for all ages. The exams are volontary and are taking place once a year in different parts of the country. Get more information about EPTA on www.epta.dk The professors for EPTA International Master Classes have during the last 12 years included the following distinguished pianists: Viktor Derevianko, Tel Aviv Irena Ossipova, Moscow Paolo Giacometti, Utrecht Hans Pålsson, Malmø Eero Heinonen, Helsinki Sergei Senkov, Moscow Eugen Indjic, Paris Ilja Scheps, Köln Krzysztof Jablonski, Canada Graham Scott, Manchester Kevin Kenner, London Yonty Solomon, London David Kuyken, Amsterdam Salvatore Spanó, Trapani Istvan Lantos, Budapest Matti Raekallio, Helsinki Jacob Leuschner, Köln Hui-Ying Tawaststjerna, Helsinki Maciej Lukaszczyk, Darmstadt Veronika Vitaite, Vilnius Murray McLachlan, Manchester Aleksandra Zvirblyté, Vilnius EUGEN INDJIC American pianist born in Jugoslavia living in Paris. He studied at Juilliard School and at Harvard Un. Early studies also with Alexander Borovsky and Arthur Rubinstein, who was his mentor and friend until he died. He described Indjic as “ a world-class pianist of rare musical and artistic perfection.”Later studies with Clifford Curzon ,Nadia Boulanger and W. Malcuszynski. Indjic was a prize winner in the international contests: Chopin (Warsaw 70), Leeds (72), Rubinstein (Tel Aviv 74) He has played in the famous halls with leading orchestras in Europe, USA and the Far East under conductors as Bernstein, Ahronovitj, Leinsdorf, Sanderling, Sinopoli, Wit and Okko Kamu. Played in regular master series in world capitals, which also included Richter,Michelangeli and Pollini. Many recordings of Chopin, Schumann, Debussy, etc. He is currently giving master classes in Prague, France, Holland, Italy, Poland , Denmark and USA, and he is a jury member in the big international contests (Chopin, Tjaikovskij, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Scriabin and Rubinstein). Professor at Schola Cantorum in Paris. JACOB LEUSCHNER. German pianist. Degree from Musikhochschule Freiburg and further studies in Lübeck with Konrad Elser. Numerous awards in major international competitions such as Viotti (Vercelli), Beethoven (Vienna), Schuberrt (Dortmund), Mozart (/Salzburg),and Leeds. Has performed as a soloist in most European countries, USA and the Far East. Also in much demand as a chamber music partner appearing in major festivals. He has appeared as a soloist under conductors as Heribert Beissel, Nichoilas Carthy, Stefan Blunier, Thomas Mandl and Dennis Russel Davies. Numerous radio and TV recordings and several CDs .He has held teaching positions at Musikhochschule in Lübeck and as a guest professor at Musikhochschule Franz Liszt in Weimar. Since 2008 he is a professor at the Musikhochschule Köln. He has performed the complete cycles of Beethoven`s, Mozart´s and Schubert´s piano sonatas . MURRAY MCLACLAN, British pianist with a world wide career performing on all five continents and playing with leading orchestras. He has made over 40 recording including all Sonatas by Beethoven and Prokofiev. His CDs receive outstanding reviews and prizes, including “key recording” and “rosette” in the Penguin Guide to CDs. He the Head of keyboard at Chetham´s School Music. a tutor at the Royal Northern College of of Music in Manchester and the founder and Artistic Director of Chetham`s International Summer school for young piansists, Europe´s largest summer course for pianists. He also launched the first Internat. Manchester Concerto Contest. for young pianists. He is the Chair of EPTA UK.
