Warblington School Warblington School Message from Julia Vincent, Headteacher I have noticed that the standard of some of our Key Dates for the Spring Term: Week A students’ uniform has slipped recently. Therefore the Tuesday 6th February Year 11 Group School Photos school will be conducting a uniform check on Monday. Year 10 Careers Fair Students have been informed of this and the expectation is that they will be in proper school Wednesday 7th February Enrichment Day 3 uniform from Monday. Please ensure that your child’s Friday 9th February Year 10 Job Interview Day shoes are entirely black, that they are wearing blazers, they have a tie and that they are wearing school Dates for Your Diary trousers and not leggings or jeans. Monday 19th February Start of Year 11 Walking Next week is Safer Internet Day and I will be leading an Talking Mocks assembly on Monday. I would be grateful if you could take the opportunity to speak with your child about Wednesday 21st February Year 8 Options and Parents their safe use of the internet. The theme of the day is Evening 4:00pm-7:00pm “A safer internet starts with you”. Monday 26th February Start of Year 11 PPEs Year 10 Boys Football Tournament On Monday 29th January the Year 10 boys football team competed against The Hayling College, Park Community School and Crookhorn College in the second to last football tournament of this half term hosted here at Warblington School. The boys made a strong start, winning the first game of the tournament against Hayling and going on to beat both Park and Crookhorn. There were a number of standout performances and moments from the players, none more so than the long range strikes from Fred Collins and great saves from Freddie Mason. The entire squad played their part in what is the fourth year group to win their area football tournament this year. T: 02392 475480 E: [email protected] W: www.warblington.hants.sch.uk Headteacher: Julia Vincent New Lighting As part of Hampshire County Council’s continuing investment in the school, we have recently had new LED lighting fitted to 20 classrooms, various offices and corridors in the main building to improve the classroom and office habitability. As well giving much improved light qualities and colour temperature in the learning environment this will also give savings to the school budget and reduce our carbon footprint. A small number of pupils travel to Hayling Island each day from other communities such as Havant. We’re all yearning to know that we are loved, that our lives World Book Day 2018 12 have purpose, and that the world can be transformed. That’s the power of love, and that’s exactly what Bishop Curry spoke about.     September 2016 admissions data - Year 7 Abbreviations used: PAN - Published Admission Number SEN - Special Educational Needs EHCP - Education, Health and Care Plan The table below shows the total number of on-time applications (first, second and third preferences) received for each school in the normal admission round for September 2016 and the number of places offered on the national notification date (1 March 2016). A breakdown of the places offered by admission criteria is also provided for all Hampshire community and voluntary controlled schools and any academies, foundation or aided schools using the same criteria. A copy of Hampshire County Council's admission criteria can be found at www.hants.gov.uk/admissions_policies_2016. Data for schools following a different set of criteria can be obtained from the school directly. The 'Allocated' column shows the number of children who were allocated a place at the school by the Local Authority because the parent was unsuccessful in gaining a place at any of their preferred schools and this was the catchment or nearest school with a place available. For oversubscribed schools, the last column shows the distance (measured as a straight line unless otherwise stated in the school's admission policy) of the last child offered a place within the criterion in which the school oversubscribed.
