Flax from all over the known world was brought to Cambrai and turned into linen fabrics, which were prized for their combination of softness and strength.

It is this combination of properties that led to the choice of flax as a base material for this exclusive new collection of shade materials. These patterns interweave flax with decorative elements of bamboo, jute, reeds, hemp and cotton slub yarns to create a stunning range of designs.

The result is a collection of soft, light fabrics, which are also tough and durable enough to withstand years of service—something new and unique in window treatments.

3 shade styles and options

Fabric Selection The Materials table gives useful technical information about each fabric and also identifies which price chart you should use. It also gives our recommended edge binding and liner colors.

The Materials table also gives the maximum width in inches for each pattern for shades to be made with a cord lock. Above these widths, shades will need to be made with a clutch and the appropriate surcharge should be added to the cost of the shade.

Shade Styles Cambrai shades come in two basic shade styles: standard and waterfall.

Standard Shades Standard shades have a 7-inch valance on the front and the lift cord or chain loop is positioned in front of the shade. The material will rise in folds when the shade is raised.

Cambrai shades will be made with a flat sewn-in bottom bar, unless hold down brackets are requested, in which case a round bottom bar will be used.

Valance returns All outside mount standard shades will be supplied with valance returns. Inside Mount returns also are available free of charge if requested at the time of ordering. Standard Shade with valance and cords in front

Valance returns are not standard with the fabric-wrapped head rail, but are Sewn-in flat bottom bar available if requested at the time of ordering.

Valance returns will be made from the edge binding fabric selected for the shade, so that they coordinate nicely with the shade.

Custom length returns can be requested as well as returns made from the shade material.

4 shade styles and options

waterfall Shades Waterfall shades have no valance and the shade comes off the front of the head rail in a flat panel, which will rise in folds when the shade is raised. Cords are hidden behind the shade.

Back valances for waterfall shades are available upon request and can be ordered with either the shade fabric, or liner fabric for lined shades.

Unless alternative controls are selected, Cambrai shades will be shipped with a cord lock and pulleys for the lift cords. Each shade will have one lift cord in the front of the shade and the other lift cords will be collected in a breakaway tassel.

For standard shades with a valance and the cords in front, breakaway tassels and the multiple cords are not visible when the shade is lowered. Breakaway tassels are color coordinated to the shade material.

Edge Binding Edge bindings will be sewn down both sides of the shade and both sides of the valance. Edge bindings are not applied to the bottom of the shade or valance.

All edge bindings will be approximately ½" wide on the face of the shade, unless wider edge bindings are requested (surcharge applies).

5 Surcharge Options clutch CONTROLS Clutches come with a nickel-plated continuous chain loop and provide an assisted lift for large or heavy shades.

All chain loops must be secured to the wall to prevent the loop becoming a strangulation hazard to small children or pets. All clutch shades will be shipped with chain tensioners for the chain loops. It is important when measuring for clutch shades, that a suitable location for the chain tensioner is identified and the length of the chain drop measured to this location. Chain loops can be specified in length to the nearest inch. If no 2 length is specified, they will be supplied /3 rds of the height of the shade.

1 The chain tensioner requires a flat surface 2 ½" long and 1 /4" wide for installation. fabric wrapped headrail Fabric wrapped headrails offer a decorative finishing touch. The end of the headrail is also covered so valance returns are not supplied unless Fabric wrapped headrail requested.

Liners Liners are secured under the edge binding on the back of the shade. If a shade is lined, the valance will automatically be lined with the same liner style and color. . Privacy Liners are available with or without ribs. Ribs create a finished roman shade look to the back of the shade and also help the softer shades rise more evenly in uniform folds. All twin shades will have the movable liner shade made with ribs.

For the pattern Batiste, we highly recommend the use of an attached liner with ribs. This is an especially soft material with a layered horizontal accent of bamboo ribs. This creates a beautiful flat panel, but will not rise neatly in roman shade folds, unless given structure by a liner with ribs.

6 Surcharge Options

movable Liners Shades with moveable liners or twin shades are shades with a separate, operable liner shade and they will have two sets of controls: one for the Cambrai shade in front and one for the liner shade behind. Controls can be on the same side of the shade or on opposite sides. Controls can also be a mix of cord locks and clutches. Controls will be on the same side if not specified.

Twin shades have wider head rails to accommodate the dual sets of con- trols [see Specifications]. motorization Motorized shades are available, but motorization options depend upon the weight of the shades. Detailed advice on specifications and pricing will be given upon request.

Twin shade multiple shades on one head rail Cambrai shades are available as 2-on-1 or 3-on-1 head rail. The maximum total width is 120", but the maximum width for a common valance is 96".

Multiple shades on one head rail will be made with a maximum ½" gap between shades.

Pay careful attention to make sure that there are suitable locations for chain tensioners or cord cleats when specifying multiple shades on one head rail, particularly for the middle shade in 3 on 1 head rail shades.

Using clutch controls, it is possible to operate 2 shades with one clutch, so a 2 on 1 can be specified with only one control on one side of the head rail and a 3 on 1 can be specified with only 2 controls, one on each side of the head rail.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

What is covered by this warranty and for how long: Shades are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product, provided that the product is installed in a residential application according to the product instructions and subjected only to normal use. We reserve the right to determine if your shade warrants a repair or partial replacement of any parts, or in the unlikely event the entire shade is defective, we will replace the shade with a new shade of equal or superior value. This shall be your sole remedy under this warranty.

Who is covered by this warranty: This warranty applies to the original customer with proof of purchase in a residential application within the United States.

What is not covered in this warranty: This warranty does not cover small variations in color or texture as these are an inherent characteristic of natural materials. Colors may change over time and this is also considered normal and not covered by this warranty.

This warranty does not cover removal or installation or reinstallation of any window covering. This warranty does not cover dam- age or defects caused by, or resulting from, improper maintenance, neglect or improper use, abuse, misuse, neglect, accidents, Acts of God, alteration, commercial use, installation, removal or reinstallation or exposure to excessive moisture.

Your rights under State Law: This warranty gives you the specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which may vary from state to state. We will not be liable for INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES or for any other direct or indirect damage, loss, cost, expense or fee. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER OBLIGATIONS, LIABILITIES, OR WARRANTIES.

11 Ordering Information For Cambrai Shades

Select your shade style Cambrai shades are only available as flat panel roman shades, either with cords in front and a valance (Standard Shade) or with the cords behind and no valance (Waterfall Shade).

Shades are available up to 96 inches wide as a single panel, or up to 120 inches wide as two or three shades on one head rail.

Select your head rail and controls Cambrai shades are available with cord lock (up to certain widths depending on the fabric), clutch or motorized (contact us for details and quotes).

Check the maximum width available with cord lock for your pattern.

Cambrai shades are exceptionally light and soft and they require more lift cords than heavier materials. If your shade exceeds the maximum width for cord lock operation, you will need to order with a clutch and continuous chain loop.

Note: our slim-line clutch fits on the same 1½" wide head rail as a cord lock.

Choose either a wood head rail or upgrade to a fabric-wrapped head rail.

Select your edge binding color All shades must be edge bound to seal and protect the edges. Edge binding is included in the shade price.

Manage your Privacy Options Cambrai shades are very sheer and offer very little privacy at night. If privacy or room darkening is desired, select either attached or movable liners.

Add ribs to liners for a finished look to the back of the shade.
