MIKE HILL 56th Bishop of Bristol Bishop Mike spent time in the world of business before considering a call to ordained ministry. He served as curate of St. Mary Magdalene, Addiscomb, after which Bishop Mike was senior curate at St. Paul’s Slough. He then served as priest in charge and later rector of St. Leonard’s Chesham Bois. During this time Bishop Mike also became Rural Dean of Amersham and was appointed the Archdeacon of Berkshire. After serving as the Bishop of Buckingham, he was the 56th Bishop of Bristol for 14 years, retiring in September 2017. Graduating seniors will be recognized as they prepare to enter a new chapter in their lives where they can carry their faith with them. To participate in the event as a senior, students are asked to submit their senior photo, baby photo, high school name and plans for after graduation to the Student Ministries o ce by Tuesday, April 24 at [email protected]. STUDENT MINISTRIES Saturday, June 23 – Friday, June 29 Palm Beach Gardens, Florida Cost: $800 (including airfare) per person Registration deadline: Monday, April 30 The high school team will return to Florida for a week of service through Hearts of Palm Ministry, an interdenominational mission host site located on the campus of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and School. They will work with code violation homes as well as spend time in one of the poorest counties in America, Belle Glade, where they will assist with tutoring and life skills training. Decorate Cards for Amistad Children Saturday, April 28 9 – 11:30 a.m. Activity Center, Community Room Come help make greetings cards for the children of Amistad Mission in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Chris King, Executive Director of Amistad Mission, will join us. No experience needed. Help at Christian Community Service Center (CCSC) Work Day Saturday, April 28 9 a.m. – noon 3434 Branard Street Help sort food and clothing donations, and staff the Food Pantry and clothing shop. Aging With Grace: Understanding Living Options Wednesday, April 25 10 – 11:30 a.m. Studies show that most of us prefer to remain in our own homes as we age, but we may need help to do so or may need to consider alternatives. We will present the different living options for seniors, including considerations for obtaining help inside and outside the home. Lunch and Learn: Etiology and Treatment of Eating Disorders Wednesday, April 25 Noon – 1 p.m. Join us as we discuss current research on eating disorder diagnoses. This presentation will also include different treatment approaches and key members on a treatment team. Aging With Grace: Paying for Aging Wednesday, May 2 10 – 11:30 a.m. Aging comes with its own challenging nancial issues considering costs and income needs for everything from living arrangements to possible elder care. Join us as we help individuals and families to de ne their nancial goals and execute them, and present some of the considerations in paying for our golden years. Registration is required.
