The EDC’s regional manufacturing association, MASC, expanded offerings and educational opportunities in addition to strengthening the manufacturing resiliency team. Twelve webinars were held throughout the year to promote and educate local manufacturers on important topics in their industry. he EDC partnered with NASA to host an information seminar for manufacturing and technology companies. The seminar focused on strategies to successfully communicate technology solutions and how to pursue the NASA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs within NASA.

In January, the EDC hosted an interactive seminar focused on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) initiatives and priorities. Twenty-five local manufacturing and technology companies attended the informational session, which was led by Elizabeth Dougherty, Eastern Regional Outreach Director of the USPTO.

The EDC continues to work with partners such as NASA and Groundswell Startups to identify and further the Space Coast’s innovation ecosystem. The EDC continued its partnership with GrowFL to identify and support second- stage entrepreneurs in Brevard County.
