We want our customers to feel secure The property now consists of almost 50,000 square when they store their belongings with us.” -Lane Lynchard

In addition to self-storage, Tiger Point Storage has added a limited retail operation focusing on quality brands, including Big Green Egg grills, Yeti Coolers, and Benchmade knives (basically a toy store for guys). I wanted to focus on a few trusted, best-in- class brands that I was familiar with. If we sell it, I use it, Lane said. Big Green Egg grills have a lifetime warranty and are perfect for people who enjoy grilling or smoking in the back yard. Yeti Coolers have continued to come out with innovative products, and I know from experience the quality is second to none. Benchmade knives are 100% made in America, with a diverse product line and a lifetime warranty. Their quality is summed up in the company motto - Its not a knife, its my Benchmade. I've got SUNSHINE on a cloudy day My daddy used to say that the Devil was beating his wife in moments like these. It’s a strange sight for sure, when the sun shines while it’s raining. Wednesday was such a day. I was driving East on 98, auto-wipers going full tilt, headlights blazing, and yet having to wear my Costas to keep the sun out of my eyes. It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does, I always seem to take note. I’m not a superstitious person. I will gladly walk under a ladder. I’ve let quite a few black cats cross my path and I have never worried about a broken mirror. I don’t throw salt over my shoulder or knock on wood. BY JASON THOMPSON Gulf Breeze News [email protected]

It was 25 years ago when Tina Turner belted out the lyrics “You’re simply the best — better than all the rest.” The lyrics could best describe the athletes of Gulf Breeze High, who last week, won the Class 5A Academic State Championship for the fourth straight year. “We are extremely proud and honored to represent the Santa Rosa County School District and the Gulf Breeze community as the FHSAA Class 5A Academic State Champions for a fourth consecutive year,” Principal Jason Weeks said. Gulf Breeze led wire-to-wire this year, leading after both the fall and winter sports seasons, being the irst school with 100 points after the winter sports season (schools earn 10 points for an individual team championship, nine for second, all the way to one points for 10th place). GBHS’ 155 points was 59 points better than runner up Riviera Beach Suncoast and was also the highest point total in the entire state. “GBHS continues to set the bar for academic excellence,” Santa Rosa County School Superintendent Tim Wyrosdick said. “The student-athletes at GBHS have once again demonstrated excellence on the ield and in the classroom. Congratulations to the students, parents and the talented faculty and staff.” The four straight 5A state titles ties the longest such streak in the state. Tampa’s Berkeley Prep has won the last four in Class 4A and ive straight, including their 3A crown in 2011. Bradenton’s Lakewood Ranch, the last school to best GBHS back in 2011 for the 4A title, has also won ive straight titles (the last two in 7A and two in 6A). Gulf Breeze won’t be able to make ive straight in 5A as they will be moving up to 6A this year. GBHS is one of two Academic State Champions in Santa Rosa County as Pace won the 6A title by edging Ocala Vanguard by four points (104-100). “Can you believe it??? WOW, that is a major accomplishment,” Wyrosdick said. The lone GBHS spring sport to win a – Illustration by Maite George state title was the baseball team, with a team grade point average of 3.486.
