Based on these preliminary decisions staff prepared a report, (Approved Requests Analysis) with additional staff comments and a summary of the impacts. The report was presented to the BOCC on May 31st where the Board made additional revisions to their preliminary decisions. The Board also directed that the Draft Comprehensive Plan/Zoning changes be taken back to the Planning Commission for review and recommendation. The material that will be reviewed with the Planning Commission includes the following: 1. Approved Requests Analysis – documents the overall process and components of the review. Also includes a countywide summary of the requests and a regional summary of individual requests and staff comments made at the BOCC work session on May 31st. 2. Property Owner Request Summaries – a spreadsheet for each planning region provides a summary of each request in addition to staff comments and the preliminary decisions by the BOCC. A location map for the requests, for each region, is also included.

It is a good place to live and a fine place to raise a family, which I have done. Actually, that is not true—my wife did all the work. I have a daughter attending James Madison University and a son enrolled at Virginia Tech; both are working hard and have bright futures ahead of them. At the time of this writing, my youngest is less than a month away from graduating high school and has sworn in as an enlistee in the United States Air Force. She leaves for boot camp shortly after she graduates. My heart is aching; but I digress. As good of a place as the Shenandoah Valley is to live, I leave every single chance I get. I have a restless soul; there is nothing I want to do more than travel and explore, even more so when it comes to paranormal destinations.
