The World Cup is an annual international dual meet championship that pits the best eight men's freestyle wrestling teams in the world. Joining Team USA will be Georgia, Azerbaijan, Japan, Cuba, Kazakhstan, India and Mongolia. Each country will wrestle three dual meets over the course of Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Place meets will begin at 12:30 p.m. central time with the gold medal match at 4 p.m. With each team allowed two team members at each weight class, Martinez was added to the roster at 74 kilograms, 163 pounds, joining former Nebraska wrestler Jordan Burroughs of the Sunkist Kids and Nebraska wrestling clubs. Martinez is currently a member of the Titan Mercury and Illini wrestling clubs.
