The event will be hosted at the Bob Devaney Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, starting at 6 p.m. CST, with exclusive live and on-demand coverage on FloWrestling, as well as on the FloSports apps on iOS, Roku and Apple TV 4. Burroughs boasts an Olympic gold medal from the 2012 Olympics in London, England. He claimed World gold medals in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017, and added a 2014 World bronze medal. He was also a 2016 Olympian. Burroughs has won six World Cup gold medals and has claimed two Pan American Games titles (2011 and 2015). In 2015, Burroughs was named USOC Male Olympic Athlete of the Year. Burroughs won two NCAA titles (2009, 2011) and three All-American honors for the University of Nebraska. He was the 2011 Dan Hodge Trophy winner as the nation’s best college wrestler. Burroughs was a 2006 New Jersey state champion for Winslow Township High School. The Team Selection procedures for the U.S. World Teams in men’s and women’s freestyle allow for 2017 Senior World medalists to advance directly to Final X at a specified weight class. Burroughs has met this requirement and accepted his qualification. In Lincoln, the top two men’s and women’s freestyle wrestlers in each of seven weight classes will compete in a best-of-three series, with winners earning spots on the U.S. Senior World Team to compete at the 2018 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Senior World Team to compete at the 2018 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Oct. 20-28, 2018. Cox will represent the United States at 92 kg/203 lbs. Among his many credentials include 2017 World bronze medalist and winning three NCAA championships for Missouri. Stieber will man the 65 kg/143 lbs. slot for the U.S. in Peru, a weight class higher than where he won his 2016 World title in Budapest, Hungry. This is his second-straight appearance at the Pan-American Championships. Last year, he finished with a bronze medal. Two-time World medalist James Green (Lincoln, Neb./Sunkist Kids) is a strong favorite to take gold in Peru. The World Cup is an annual international dual meet championship that pits the best eight men's freestyle wrestling teams in the world. Joining Team USA will be Georgia, Azerbaijan, Japan, Cuba, Kazakhstan, India and Mongolia. Each country will wrestle three dual meets over the course of Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Place meets will begin at 12:30 p.m. central time with the gold medal match at 4 p.m. With each team allowed two team members at each weight class, Martinez was added to the roster at 74 kilograms, 163 pounds, joining former Nebraska wrestler Jordan Burroughs of the Sunkist Kids and Nebraska wrestling clubs. Martinez is currently a member of the Titan Mercury and Illini wrestling clubs. In total, Team USA World Cup members have claimed three Olympic medals, 13 Senior World medals, eight age-group World medals and 30 NCAA Division I national titles. Martinez recently concluded his Illinois career with his fourth NCAA Finals appearance.
