ROUTES AROUND THE PARK There’s plenty of activity happening around the area this year and you’ll see some changes to our routes and walkways which may affect how you access certain parts of the Park. We’ve worked hard to minimise the impact of these works but please note that some hoarding will be in place over the coming months. Work has now commenced on the infrastructure works which will support the new East Wick and Sweetwater neighbourhoods. As a result, hoarding is in place at Mandeville Place, running from Stadium Bridge 2 and crossing to the north of the Park at Waterden Road. The works will be completed by the end of this year. From June 2018, the pavement of Waterden Road will be closed, so for access to the Copper Box Arena, Here East and Hackney Wick, please cross into the north of the Park and follow directional signs.

03 AROUND THE PARK Q&A WITH LYN GARNER

Lyn Garner is the newly installed Chief Executive of London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), the organisation responsible for the long-term development and management of the Park and its impact on the surrounding area. We spoke to Lyn to find out what excites her about her new role and her ambitions for the future of the Park.

Before joining LLDC, I was working for the London the Park. A plan is Borough of Haringey looking after all things emerging for that, development and planning. and by the autumn we will be very clear I love working in development so when this post came on how we deliver up it seemed perfect! As well as being focused on new neighbourhoods development, planning and regeneration (all the things within E20. I’m passionate about), LLDC is at the start of an amazing journey to make the Park into a real place where new I see my job at residents and business can thrive and make it a home. LLDC as being a public-facing one. The delivery of a brand new cultural and education I'm responsible for district on the Park is a big challenge but also a hugely working closely positive one. The arrival of world-class organisations with our partners such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, Sadler’s Wells, around the area University of the Arts London and University College and keeping London will help cement the Park’s reputation but I think them on board that the sign of a successfully delivered cultural and with how we’re progressing, as well as education district will be one that is relevant for existing handling local and regional political issues, smoothing local communities as well as new residents and visitors. out difficulties and most importantly ensuring that we’re Another positive challenge for me and the organisation properly celebrating all of the great things about Queen is the delivery of a long-term housing strategy for Elizabeth Olympic Park! REVIEW OF THE LOCAL PLAN Last year, we began a formal review of the Local Plan, the statutory Development Plan for the Legacy Corporation area. The Local Plan sets out the strategy for how the local area in and around the Park will grow and develop up until 2031, while also setting out the policies that are used to shape and decide new development in the area. In response to the first consultation on the scope of the changes, we have received a number of responses and we are now developing the changes to the Local Plan. We are also ensuring that our work conforms to both emerging national policies and the new London Plan, the overall strategic plan for the capital. A number of evidence studies have been completed and can now be viewed on our website at QueenElizabethOlympicPark.co.uk/local-plan-review You can continue to provide your views to us as the changes to the Plan are developed. Latest news and information about the review process and how you can be involved can be found on our website, or you can provide your feedback via our online consultation portal at lldcplan.commonplace.is Stay informed! If you would like to be included in future planning policy consultations, or you wish to remain on our consultation list, please let us know by emailing [email protected] HELP FUND YOUR LOCAL PROJECT Stay up to date with news and information:
