Rosecliff Exhibition May 21 - January 1, 2017

The advent of private steam yachts in America brought with it a new social schedule as industrial tycoons took to pleasure cruising as never before. Much like the city mansions and summer cottages of the Gilded Age elite, these floating palaces quickly became status markers for the men who used conspicuous consumption as their standard of measure.
