“Sahay”is an initiative of the students of NIPER-Guwahatito serve the people who are in need. It’s the enthusiasm and a good ambition of the students to share a part of their benefits with the underprivileged in the society, which gave birth to Sahay. It was formed as a voluntary organization on 7th March 2014.

Objectives

To help the poor peoplewho are in need

Tohelp the children in orphanages and elder peoplein old age homes

InSponsoring a child’s education(initially 1)

Capacity building by working in association with existing NGOs

A visit to Ila-Snehalayaorphanage:

The activities of the Sahay team started with the visit toIla-Snehalaya, which is near to Balaji temple in Guwahati. The children of Ila-Snehalayawere provided bedsheets, Milton water bottles, energy drinks andfruits. The entire team members had a heart-warming session while indulging with the children in playing gamesand encouraging them with gifts fortheir performances including dance, skit and songs.

Highlights of the Sahay visit to Ila-Snehalaya

Financial assistance to Mr.Brigunath:

The second activity of Sahay was providing financial assistance to Mr. Brigunath, the care taker ofanimal house of NIPER-Guwahati after the team had learnt thathe was in dire need of monetary help.
