Biodiversity Data Journal 1: e1008. doi: 10.3897/BDJ.1.e1008 Abstract Ichneumonid wasps of the subfamily Acaenitinae Förster, 1869 are reviewed for the first time from the Ukrainian Carpathians. Two species, Coleocentrus exareolatus Kriechbaumer, 1894 and C. heteropus Thomson, 1894 are new records for Ukraine. Arotes annulicornis Kriechbaumer, 1894 is considered to be a junior synonym of A. albicinctus Gravenhorst, 1829 (syn. nov.). A key to species of Coleocentrus of the Carpathians is provided. Abstract 1 In 1997, we ran two Malaise insect traps in each of four stands of wet forest in Costa Rica (two old-growth and two 20-year-old stands) and four stands of moist forest in Panama (old-growth, 20, 40 and 120-year-old stands). 2 Wet forest traps caught 2.32 times as many ichneumonoids as moist forest traps. The average catch per old-growth trap was 1.89 times greater than the average catch per second-growth trap. 3 Parasitoids of lepidopteran larvae were caught in higher proportions in the wet forest, while pupal parasitoids were relatively more active in the moist forest. 4 We hypothesize that moisture availability is of key importance in determining parasitoid activity, community composition and trophic interactions. Kokoelmanäytteitä 1900-luvun alusta aina nykypäivään saakka tutkittiin, mikä mahdollisti 102 aiemmin arvioimattoman lajin tarkastelun Suomen lajiston v. 2019 uhanalaisuusarvioinnissa. Työn yhtenä tuloksena päivitettiin Suomen lajiluette- lo: lisättiin 16 lajia ja poistettiin 8 lajia. Kyseiset muutokset käsitellään tässä. Eleven species are found from Japan and two of them, A. elegans sp. nov. and A. yamato sp. nov., are newly described. Distribution data and an updated key to Japanese species are provided. Key words: Far East Asia, Glyptini, new species, parasitoid, taxonomy Introduction The genus Apophua Morley, 1913, is a medium-sized taxon of ichneumonid wasps of the tribe Glyptini, subfamily Banchinae, which contains 36 described species from the Afrotropical (13 spp.), Eastern Palaearctic (10), Oriental (10), Western Palaearctic (5), Nearctic (2), and Australasian (2) regions (Yu et al., 2012). The species in this genus are known as koinobiont endoparasitoids of lepidopteran larvae, particularly of leaf rollers (e.g. Tortricidae), and include some important natural enemies of forest pests (Kamijo, 1973; Momoi et al., 1975). We have studied the Japanese species of Apophua as part of a review of the Japanese Glyptini and have recognized 11 species. -
