Work Environment and Physical Demands Occupations often can be performed by those with disabilities when provided with appropriate adaptations.  Work at drafting boards in well-lighted rooms.  Work is precise and factual and often routine.  Some evening or night shift work may be necessary.  Computer systems make it easy to prepare many variations of a design.  Workers may experience stress from deadlines and design changes.  Work is typically light requiring exertion of up to 20 pounds of force.  Tools used include: Mini or PC computers and software, instruments, shop tools and equipment.
