2011 ATMAE Conference Proceedings Paper: “Converting Legacy Maps Into 3D Models” (Graphics Track), by Mr ATMAE 2011 Conference Presentation Abstracts and Proceedings Papers Review Process & Statistics for Presentations and Papers This CD-ROM of the ATMAE 2011 Conference Presentation Abstracts and Proceedings Papers is the result of the work of many authors in technology, technology management, and applied engineering degree programs throughout the United States who gathered to share their work at the 2011 Annual ATMAE Conference, “Rethinking the Future,” in Cleveland, Ohio, November 9 - 12, 2011. This CD-ROM includes all of the conference presentation abstracts that were accepted through peer- review for presentation and publication (except those withdrawn by the authors), and the Conference Proceedings Papers (that are based on accepted presentations) which were accepted through a secondary peer-review process. The reviews of presentation proposals and conference papers were led by ATMAE Division Presidents and Focus Group Chairs. The proposals and papers were reviewed in a double-blind process by a panel of at least three ATMAE members with expertise in the topical area. Using the review criteria (posted on the ATMAE website), panelists evaluated and ranked each paper, and a cumulative rank-ordering system was used to help select the presentations and papers. The ATMAE 2011 Conference Presentation Abstracts were subject to a double-blind peer review process. In 2011, the peer- review process led to acceptance of 77% of presentation proposals, 190 of 245 proposals submitted. Some proposals were withdrawn after acceptance and are not published in the Proceedings. The ATMAE 2011 Conference Proceedings Papers went through a similar process. Authors of accepted conference presentations were invited to submit full papers based on their presentation abstracts. The Conference Proceedings Papers were selected in a double-blind peer review process, with panels of at least three reviewers involved in reading and reviewing each paper. In 2011, of 190 accepted conference presentations, 41 were expanded into longer papers and were submitted for the peer-review process. The double-blind peer review process led to acceptance of 49% of the papers submitted, for a total of 20 ATMAE 2011 Conference Proceedings Papers. These 20 Conference Papers represent 10.5% of the proposals accepted for presentation at the 2011 ATMAE Conference, and only 8.2% of proposals submitted. Best 2011 ATMAE Conference Proceedings Paper: “Converting Legacy Maps into 3D Models” (Graphics track), by Mr. Andrew Kellie of Murray State University. This paper was selected in a blind peer-review by four members of ATMAE’s Executive Board from the eight papers evaluated as best in their respective review tracks. • Linking Revit Facility Life-Cycle Data to ARCHIBUS – a Case Study of an Academic Institution
Available online at 2019.creative-construction-conference.com/proceedings/ CCC 2019 Proceedings of the Creative Construction Conference (2019) 118 Edited by: Miroslaw J. Skibniewski & Miklos Hajdu https://doi.org/10.3311/CCC2019-118 Creative Construction Conference 2019, CCC 2019, 29 June - 2 July 2019, Budapest, Hungary Linking Revit Facility Life-Cycle Data to ARCHIBUS – A Case Study of an Academic Institution Walid Thabeta,*, Dan Millerb aVirginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA 24061, USA bInfrastructure Management Solutions, Vienna, VA 22182, USA Abstract Building owners and facility managers are beginning to leverage spatial information and asset data in BIMs for efficient and sustainable building operations and maintenance. Extracting information from BIMs for import into FM platforms still poses an implementation challenge to many owners. Methods for bi-directional synchronization of data between a BIM and FM software for real-time access to lifecycle model data can be more advantageous over one-way data export approaches so the owner can take advantage of an as-built BIM that can have data updated in real-time with continuous asset data updates. This paper uses a case study of a renovation project on a university campus to illustrate the use of the ARCHIBUS Smart Client for bidirectional real-time data exchange with Revit. The Archibus workflows were compared to other methods for data exchange as to how they support the needs of the owner. Lessons learned and challenges related to this workflow are discussed. © 2019 The Authors. Published by Budapest University of Technology and Economics & Diamond Congress Ltd.
