th 20 October, 2010 [20/10/2010] Honorable Xiaobo 2010 Laureate

Greetings from Atlanta: City of Peace. Dear Brother Xiaobo. You are a very inspiring brother in our Global Family. We join with peacemakers here in the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and many millions around the world to celebrate your honor as: : The Laureate

We wish to extend to you our invitation to relocate here, to the City of Atlanta. It is seen by many as a city of refuge as evidenced by the fact that over 80,000 people came here when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. More importantly, Dr. King’s birthplace is viewed by millions around the Earth as a City of Peace and our organization is working to formalize it as a Global Capital of Peace. Please accept our invitation to assist us in this new millennium peace project.

Atlanta is home to three Nobel Peace Prize Laureates: 1) Dr. King, 2) President Carter and 3) His Holiness The Dalai Lama, who became an official part-time resident after he accepted a Distinguished Professorship from Emory University [Note: this is the first professorship he has ever accepted]. We have also invited Dr. , and President Obama (the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates in 2006 & 2009; respectively). Dr. Yunus wants to establish a Grameen Bank Branch here in Atlanta, and our organization has volunteered to assist. We hope he accepts our offer.

Additionally, since Dr. King is seen by millions worldwide to be the most globally accomplished peace movement protégé of Gandhi, then Atlanta is in a perfect position to nurture our Global Family through them. Gandhi is actually defined by the Nobel Foundation as: “The Missing Laureate.” Please assist us in developing the Gandhi-King Global Peace Connection.

Brother Xiaobo, please be assured that you always have a peaceful home waiting for you in Atlanta: City of Peace. We will gladly work with President Kwame Anthony Appiah and: The PEN American Center plus the many other respected leaders of International PEN to plan for your "Welcome Home" Celebration in Dr. King's birthplace. We understand that due to your present circumstances you cannot come right away, so in the interim please rest assured that we send our many healing energies to you, as does our widely respected corporate inspiration and Democracy proponent: WorldBlu.

We also invite you to be an official founder and co-creator for Atlanta: City of Peace and our Global Peace Museum (GPM) project. On our museum project, we respectfully request that you send us a Letter of Support for this new international tourist destination. Even though you are incarcerated on the other side of the Earth please know that you can still powerfully co-create this new beacon of worldwide peace with us. It could soon adjoin Atlanta’s “world’s busiest airport” and significantly support the Peace-Through-Tourism Industry. Success with the GPM will directly build the Global Peace Legacy of Dr. King’s birthplace and greatly nurture our Global Family’s most important asset: “The Gandhi-King Global Peace Connection” At present, we are working to secure NASA’s retired Space Shuttle ATLANTIS for Atlanta’s new museum. Brother Xiaobo, you can show the world that you can teach all about “Our Place in the Cosmos” even though you are now jailed. If you are able, please visit our website www.ATLANTAcityofpeace.org and envision your widely respected wisdom and influence helping to launch our movement and mission of transforming Dr. King’s birthplace into a global capital of peace.

There is something beautiful and auspicious between you and me. You co-authored in 2008 and it was published December 10, the same day of the month Dr. King gave his Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Speech in 1964. With the inspiration I’ve received over the years from my great, great, great, great, great, great uncle, Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence, I authored The Declaration of Peace Millennium (Years 2000-3000) on 08/08/08. At 08:08:08 PM [ Standard Time] on that same day and at the same time as the Beijing Olympic Games were started, I published my declaration (copy enclosed).

It is interesting to note that most people are not aware that a citizen from Atlanta, whom I know, authored the Official Slogan for the Beijing Olympic Games. His slogan was chosen from among 210,000 other entries. It is further noteworthy that the Beijing Games Slogan, “One World, One Dream” was originally submitted for the 1996 Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games because it would remind people worldwide about Dr. King’s famous speech: “I Have A Dream!” Brother Xiaobo, your inspiring service, enthusiasm and example to our Global Family carries us and many others forward in our bid to foster and nurture world peace. We eagerly await your encouraging news and positive reply to our official invitation to relocate to Dr. King’s birth city and state: Atlanta: City of Peace and Georgia: The Peace State. Respectfully,

John R. Naugle Founder, President & CEO for Atlanta: City of Peace, Inc. (ACP) and The Global Peace Museum, Inc. (GPM)
