aksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh Rand External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar met US Secretary of Defense Dr Mark T Esper and Secretary of State Michael R Pompeo in Washington DC on December 18, 2019 for the second annual India- US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue. This 2+2 Ministerial is the highest-level institutional mechanism between the two countries and provides for a review of the security, defence and strategic partnership between India and the . This was the second 2+2 meeting and the first in US.

At the Dialogue, both sides Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh and US Secretary of Defense Dr Mark Esper in positively appraised the growing Washington on December 18, 2019.

aksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh Rvisited the Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana and Naval Station Norfolk on December 17, 2019 during his visit to the United States of America. The visit highlighted the depth of the US-India defence partnership and the close ties between the Navies of the two countries. During the visit to NAS Oceana, Raksha Mantri inspected a Boeing Mobile Flight Simulator, static display and F/A-18E flight demonstration. The Indian delegation also toured the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), which is located at Naval Station Norfolk. Shri Rajnath Singh was accompanied by Ambassador of India to the US Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar, other senior officials of the Government of India and active- duty military officers. The US officials said they were honoured to host Shri Rajnath Singh and the Indian delegation to Naval Air Station Oceana and onboard USS Dwight D Eisenhower, adding that the visit will further bolster the partnerships between the two countries. Combined Graduation Parade A was held at Air Force Academy, Dundigal on December 21, 2019, which marked the successful culmination of training for 127 Flight Cadets of Flying and Ground duty branches of the IAF. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria was the Reviewing Officer of the Combined Graduation Parade, where he conferred the ‘President’s Commission’ on the graduating Flight Cadets who successfully completed their professional training. Twenty one women officers joined the growing number of women in the IAF. On this day the President’s Commission is formally conferred on these young and tough air warriors after a long period of rigorous training. he Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Torganised the 18th National Maritime Search and Rescue Board (NMSARB) meeting on December 18, 2019 to discuss policy issues, formulate guidelines & procedures and assess the efficacy of National Search and Rescue Plan. The apex-level meeting was chaired by Director General Indian Coast Guard and Chairman NMSARB Shri K Natarajan and attended by 48 Board members from various ministries, agencies, all Coastal States & Union Territories. he maiden edition of Indo -US Tri-Services Amphibious THumanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Exercise “Tiger Triumph” was conducted at Vishakhapatnam from November 13-21, 2019. The contingent comprised of 19 MADRAS Amphibious Group from onboard INS Jalashwa and INS Airavat while the US contingent consisted of Marines from Second battalion, 2nd Marines onboard USS German town along with RAMT of Indian Airforce. It was the first ever exercise in which all the three services participated together with US Marines & US Navy. The aim of the exercise was HADR and Security of beachhead for effective Aid relief mechanism in a third world country affected by a disaster. The opening ceremony was conducted onboard INS Jalashwa on November 14, 2019 and was attended by a number of dignitaries from both nations including US Ambassador to India, Mr Kennith Juster. In an impressive display, flags of Indian Army, Indian Navy & Indian Airforce along with US Navy and US Marine Corps were paraded. The Harbour phase was conducted at Vishakhapatnam from 13-16 November, 2019. A series of Joint conferences and interactive sessions were carried out to ensure smooth conduct of the exercise. The phase also witnessed a series of games including volleyball and soccer enhancing bonhomie and camaraderie. The Sea Phase started from November 17, 2019 and this phase included sailing from Vishakhapatnam to Kakinada and culminated with securing of beach and establishment of IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) Camp. A Joint Command and Control Centre (JCOC) was also established on the beach to control and monitor the HADR operation being conducted and was staffed by representatives from all three services of Indian

Armed Forces as well as US Navy and US Marine Corps.
