01 Allen Toussaint
Tribute to legendary New Orleans musician/composer/producer.
When Allen Toussaint died in November New Orleans lost one of its greatest ever musicians. Yet Toussaint only achieved international prominence as recording artist in his own right recently when he collaborated with Elvis Costello. In the early part of his career Toussaint penned dozens of hit songs for others some of them Australians. This review pays tribute to an extraordinary talent.

Guitarist Ross Hannaford, founding member of the esteemed Daddy Cool overcomes health problems to release a new solo album.
recently included in - with the Pink Finks back in 1965 as a fourteen year old. Later, with Ross Wilson - another Pink Fink he founded produced his own solo recordings. Despite recent health problems he has released his latest solo album, the reggae influence Hanna.

05 Courtney Barnett
It has been an amazing year for Courtney Barnett, capped off by a Grammy nomination as Best New Artist.
In 2015 Courtney Barnett released the album Sometimes I Sit & Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit, which took the world by storm. She appeared on the Jimmy Fallon show and with Ellen Degeneres in the USA and won a swag of ARIA Awards. The year closed with a Grammy nomination.

The acclaimed follow up to Sea of Stars was not an easy process for Suzannah Espie as she dealt with being a mother and all that entailed. That became the inspiration for some of her songs including the title track on what is a beautiful and provocative album.
