The 2013 Concours du Soleil earned $125,000 for the benefit of the Albuquerque community. Last year the proceeds were awarded to six nonprofit organizations. Here is what two of them had to say about the grants.

Children’s Cancer Fund of New Mexico “The Children’s Cancer Fund of New Mexico is grateful to have been a grant recipient of the Concours du Soleil event. The $7,000 grant we received was helpful in Jerrald J. Roehl providing critical financial assistance to families whose children are battling cancer in KC Roehl New Mexico. Albuquerque has the only cancer treatment centers for children in the Sate of New Mexico. No matter where a child is diagnosed or lives, children in New Mexico must travel to Albuquerque for treatments. Clinic visits and overnight stays are continually required by families already emotionally and financially burdened by this terrible disease. A New Day Youth & Family Services WE WOULD LIKE TO SAY “The Life Skills Academy (LSA) has grown thanks to the support of new community partners who are utilizing the facility and assisting in recruiting new THANK YOU teachers for the classes. We have on average 8-10 classes each month that teach youth vital life skills TO ALL OF THE including cooking, resume writing, safe and healthy relationships, and financial literacy. The Transitional CAR OWNERS Living Program (TLP) apartments that are attached to the LSA are now full which means 6 young people are no longer homeless and have the support of New Day to help guide them into adulthood. We are also proud to announce that this summer we had our very first TLP graduate: Christian is an exeptional young woman who has been attending CNM for the past year and plans to transfer to UNM in 2015 to achieve a double major and Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communications. MCLAREN 650S 1955 FERRARI 500 MONDIAL SERIES II

Drawing on 50 years of racing success, McLaren has created some of the most iconic and exhilarating road the world has ever seen. During the epic 1988 season, Team Principal Ron Dennis and Technical Director Gordon Murray began thinking about the idea of a McLaren road car. In 1993 the influential McLaren F1 was launched. Two years later, the F1 GTR dominated at Le Mans, turning the greatest of its generation into the most successful British race car of modern times.

In three semesters, UNM students design and build a formula- style racecar, then race in an international competition.
