But a couple of weeks after the press conference in which the entry list was announced, things started to look a little different. Dome and Pescarolo were the most prominent withdrawals, almost all of them because of a lack of budget. One month prior to race day the reserve list was down to one car. Uncertainty loomed – would we actually see a full grid this year? We will – and there will even be quite a few new cars to watch: three Ford GTs, the two BMW M3s, a Jaguar XKRS and on the prototype side the HPD, the Norma and the WR will be at La Sarthe for the first time. P1: The battle between Audi and Peugeot for overall honours enters round 4 - current score Ingolstadt 2, Velizy 1. Forces on both sides are very similar to last year: Audi will land with 3 works R15, Peugeot once again has 3 works cars and a fourth car in the hands of an experienced French privateer team, this year Team Oreca Matmut. Audi has obviously accepted that last year their preparation was a little bit too easygoing and has redesigned
